Qantas Hotels Triple Points frenzy is back - 9 points per dollar base spend on hotels from 4 - 10 September 2023 (AEST).

Know this one is a hit with Points Club members, as it's 11.25pts/$ for Points Club members, and 13.5pts/$ for Points Club Plus.

T&C's:

Qantas Frequent Flyer members will earn 9 Qantas Points per A$1 value on all hotels booked through qantas.com/hotels, except Classic Hotel Rewards, Airbnb, and holiday packages booked through qantas.com/holidays, from 12.01am (AEST) 4 September 2023 until 11.59pm (AEST) 10 September 2023 for travel until 4 September 2024. Bookings made for Accor hotel offers during the campaign period will not earn triple points; however they will earn 9 Qantas Points per A$1 value instead of the standard 4 Qantas Points. Points Club members will earn 25% more Qantas Points, and Points Club Plus members will earn 50% more Qantas Points. Offer excludes Holiday Packages. Qantas Points will not be earned on cancelled or refunded bookings. Qantas Points cannot be split between two or more members occupying the same room. To earn Qantas Points, quote your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number when booking. Members will not be able to redeem points for, or earn points on additional charges paid to the accommodation provider for extras (including cots, breakfasts and other incidentals) on check-in or check-out (as applicable). Qantas Points will be credited to your account at least eight weeks after check-out.

Coincidentally (?) the room rates for several hotels I was looking at have all gone up. Ended up booking with Luxury Escapes as personally I would rather just save the money.

Interesting to see how the prices compare to booking directly with the accommodation.
Edit: As a matter of curiosity checked the Doubletree on Flinders for an upcoming 3night stay including breakfasts, in a Twin guest room.
Direct with the Hotel $699 , QANTAS Hotels $850.

Yes, always a good idea to cross-check prices before booking. For the hotel I went with in the end:

Direct: NZD375 (= ~AUD344) with free cancellation
Luxury Escapes: AUD345 with free cancellation
Qantas Hotels: AUD394* and non-refundable

*AUD438 if not logged in as a Qantas member

I’ve not found that to be an issue during previous promos. But yes, ALWAYS compare prices. As I’ve mentioned before, TripAdviser will often show the QF Hotels price v Booking.com, Expedia etc. Usually Expedia and QF are identical.

As a PC member I just booked a holiday stay for January next year, and during the check out it showed the full 11.25pts per $ spent, I then paid the 20% deposit and my itinerary only shows 9pts per $ of my deposit paid and not the full points due!
Has anyone had this on previous 9pts promos and QFF has ended up paying full points?
I considered cancelling and rebooking, but part of my booking is a QFF voucher that I got from PC.

yeah I saw this too in checking out hotels in Launceston ($900 booking provides 8,100 points which is enough for a one way Adel-Melb reward tic)
what I have observed over the past year is that QF matches the headline pricing on the hotels own website BUT it doesn't do some of the special deals - eg a specific 30% off sale or B&B deal might not be offered via the consolidator booking sites and only appear via the hotel itself. Did notice that occasionally the hotel would offer a cheaper price on its own website (presuming this to do with the commission structure involved)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I thought this was excellently timed for me, needing a hotel in Montevideo for three nights in December. I did compare the prices for the same room booking direct and they were actually within about $10 of each other. So then I had the choice of booking with Hilton Diamond status, points and breakfast versus Qantas points and pay extra for breakfast. I went with the Hilton status direct booking.

Yep, I’d book direct at the usual chains that I have status. More likely to get an upgrade also!

Question: I have taken up this triple points offer but now I need to make a date change and possibly a hotel change.
I booked refundable, if I call up to get them to do the change and my booking reference doesn't change, will I still get the triple points offer?
