Recent Experiences with QF’s new terminal transfer at SYD

Tbus still runs.
---
Don't think the VA bus from gate 35 at SYD T2 runs anymore with less VAi flights, and after VolAdmin so Tbus is the one to aim for.
Might have to walk across from T3 to T2 at SYD dom if you see a Tbus and it does not stop outside T3.

Per SYD website:

The Terminal Transfer Bus, our complimentary shuttle bus between T1 International and T2 and T3 Domestic terminals, runs every 15 minutes between 05:30 and 21:30. The trip takes 10 minutes.

I know.
But going back through dom sec with huge bags...
Not ideal, and might get screamed at by sec officers.
After bag reclaim, need Tbus to get to SYD T1.
If HLO, then no need Tbus, but to use internal transfer bus, still need BP which PERLHR won't have till am.
---
If same day T3 to T1, and with BP, I will bite my tail and keep quiet.
But with plane hold bags, and no next flight BP, PERLHR might have to use Tbus.
===
Free Tbus vs $8.50 peak, or $7.30 off peak (ouch) pp train inc gate fee, or $2.24 off peak/$3.20 peak pp or so on the 420.

Seriously?

Do you actually read the posts you're responding to or just waffle and confuse everything that much more?

This was very clear

Question please...flying PER to SYD on QF metal on one day, then the following morning flying SYD to CHC on Emirates metal. Checked bags will be picked up at SYD on arrival then we are staying overnight at the Rydges by the International terminal before checking in the following morning for the early flight to CHC on EK.

No VA, no same day, no question about airside busses...

🤦‍♂️

How to get cheaply to T1 then, guru?
With bags reclaimed off carousel.
Go back throught dom sec at T3 to get transfer bus, with no next flight BP?
---
If 2 by train, it's $17 for 2 peak, $15 off peak, less by 420 bus.
I would aim for Tbus.
If 3 pax, train will be $$$.

With all due respect, let's review the question

What would.be the best way to the Rydges from the domestic bag reclaim area at SYD? I assume can't go airside...so is there free bus that links the terminals?

@PERLHR Did not mention cheap, bar mentionof the free Tbus. They asked for the "best"

You brought up the VA bus - which may or may not run - probably not - but irrelevant since you yourself mentioned you can't use an airside bus without BP - so why even mention it? Also why not stop and research if it actually runs?

Further, you also muddied the waters by talking about a same day connection - which the post CLEARLY stated it was not. So again - why bring it up?

Others have responded appropriately with the Tbus as probably being the best, subject to the stated time limits. The train may be easier if more bags and of course an uber or cab being the most exxy, but probably convenient.

I am not implying I am a guru, I just do not understand why you introduced a number of irrelevancies to the discussion that make no sense to bring up had you read the very clear question.

As a constructive suggestion, could you try and limit your helpful answers to those relevant to what is actually being asked?

My $2 worth.
