Top Qantas Credit Card Sign-Up Offers for December 2020

Top Qantas Credit Card Sign-Up Offers for November 2020If you’re looking for a new credit card, sign-up bonus point offers can be an easy way to earn a significant amount of frequent flyer points towards a future trip!

As always, there are plenty of great Qantas credit card sign-up deals available during December 2020. But if you don’t already have a Qantas points-earning credit card – and haven’t during the past 12 months – there’s another great reason to apply for one this month. Qantas is currently giving 20,000 extra bonus points to first-time cardholders that apply by 4 January 2020. To take advantage of this, you would need to register for the promo on the Qantas website.

In our lists of the month’s top credit card sign-up offers, we generally only include offers for personal credit cards. But there’s a business credit card offer that’s also worth mentioning this month. The NAB Qantas Business Signature Visa card comes with 100,000 bonus Qantas points, and this card openly awards points for spend at the ATO.

Although our December 2020 list of credit card sign-up offers only covers Qantas points offers, there are two other cards worth mentioning. The Amex Platinum card (which admittedly has a very high $1,450 annual fee) currently comes with 200,000 bonus Amex Membership Rewards Premium Ascent points. Amex points can be converted at a 2:1 rate to many frequent flyer programs including Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Etihad Guest, Asia Miles and Emirates Skywards. This offer expires on 27 January 2021.

The other special mention goes to the St George Amplify Signature card, which continues to offer up to 200,000 Amplify points to new customers until 9 February 2021. Amplify Rewards points convert at a 2:1 rate to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Virgin Australia Velocity and Malaysia Airlines Enrich.

Without further ado, here are our picks for the top 5 Qantas credit card sign-up deals available in December 2020…

Don’t forget that up to 125,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned from any Qantas credit card sign-up offer will also count towards Points Club membership. You’d need to earn 150,000 Qantas points during your membership year to reach Points Club status, or 350,000 Qantas points for Points Club Plus membership, with no more than 20,000 of those points coming from flights. Qantas Points Club benefits include complimentary Qantas Club passes or membership and the possibility to earn status credits for Qantas-marketed Classic Flight Reward bookings.

Beware that most banks have credit card exclusion periods whereby bonus points are not awarded to customers that have previously held a card with that bank in the past 12-18 months.

Most current credit card sign-up deals are discussed in the Card Promotions threads on the Australian Frequent Flyer forum.
