Velocity Frequent Flyer is giving bonus points and status credits to members who make a Hertz car rental booking by the end of this month.

You can earn 10 bonus Velocity status credits on the first Hertz car hire booking that you make between 6-31 December 2021, for eligible rentals that begin and end between 6 December 2021 and 28 March 2022.

Velocity status credits count towards your Virgin Australia status tier.

To take advantage of this offer, you would need to book a Hertz rental through the Virgin Australia/Cartrawler website and enter your Velocity membership number at the time of booking.

Bookings made directly with Hertz (or anywhere other than the Cartrawler website) are not eligible for this offer. You can only get the 10 status credits once per Velocity account. (Although, if you use family pooling, another person in your household could make a second booking and you could earn more status credits that way.)

In addition to 10 status credits on your first Hertz rental booking during the promotional period, you’ll earn at least 4 Velocity points per dollar spent. If you’re a Silver, Gold or Platinum Velocity member, you’ll earn 4.5, 5.25 or 6 Velocity points per dollar, respectively.

Velocity Frequent Flyer is also giving away 250,000 bonus Velocity points to four lucky members who book during the promotional period. You can find the full competition terms & conditions on the Velocity website.

Other ways to earn Velocity status credits on the ground

While Velocity status credits are generally earned by flying with Virgin Australia and its partner airlines, there are also a limited range of ways to earn additional status credits on the ground.

Outside of the current Hertz offer, you can earn 1 status credit for every $100 spent at Coles, Liquorland & First Choice Liquor Market by linking your Flybuys and Velocity memberships, up to a maximum of 10 status credits per month. During this month, some Velocity members are also being offered double status credits via Flybuys as a limited-time offer.

You can also earn bonus Velocity status credits with a couple of current Velocity credit card sign-up offers. Both the American Express Velocity Platinum and Virgin Money Velocity High Flyer cards are currently offering bonus Velocity points and status credits to new cardholders.
