Only AMEX Ascent Premium points can be transferred to Qantas Frequent Flyer. If you want to earn Qantas points but don’t earn Ascent Premium points, you could consider an AMEX Qantas co-branded card. Alternatively, you could upgrade to a card that does earn Amex Ascent Premium points.

Do American Express Membership Rewards points expire?

All forms of American Express Membership Rewards points do not expire as long as your account is active and in good standing. However, if you close your account or miss payments, you’ll have 30 days to use your points before they’re forfeited.
