United Boeing 787-9 Business Class Seat Overview

United Airlines has two versions of Boeing 787-9 Business Class seats.

The older configuration is typically used on flights to/from Australia. You can tell whether an aircraft has the older-style Business class seats because of the 2-2-2 seating layout, and the lack of a Premium Economy cabin on the plane.

Best seats The bulkhead seats in rows 1 & 6 may have a little more space for your feet when the seat is fully reclined.

For solo travellers, the middle “D/E” seats may be preferred because you’ll have exclusive aisle access.

Avoid row 4 because there is no window.

For couples, you may prefer a pair of D/F middle seats in an odd-numbered row which are directly beside each other.
