Qantas Wine is an online retailer selling wine, spirits, beer and gourmet food. One of the reasons that it’s so popular among Qantas Frequent Flyer members is the ability to earn Qantas points on wine purchases – often with generous bonus points attached!

Anyone can purchase wine from the Qantas Wine online store, but there are some additional benefits available to premium members including free delivery and the ability to earn more points.

Qantas Wine Premium Membership previously cost $99 or 13,000 Qantas points per year, purchased individually. However, since late 2022, Qantas Wine has stopped selling Premium memberships directly. Instead, there are now several ways to get Qantas Wine Premium Membership for free!

Qantas Wine Premium membership benefits

The main benefits of Qantas Wine Premium membership include:

  • Free delivery on all purchases
  • Earn 3 Qantas points per $1 spent
  • Complimentary joining gift of 3,000 Qantas points or a bottle of wine (if you purchase a membership for $99 or 13,000 points)
  • Member-exclusive products and deals
  • Invitations to member-only wine tastings and events

In the past, you could choose your free gift when purchasing a membership on the Qantas Wine website.

The bonus gift is not available when claiming a complimentary membership.

Non-members still earn 1 Qantas point per dollar spent with Qantas Wine, and free delivery is offered to all customers on purchases of over $300. The extra Qantas points could come in handy if you order large amounts of wine, and the free delivery for members could be useful if you place frequent but smaller orders.

When buying Qantas Wine membership – or anything else from the Qantas Wine store – we recommend paying by credit card rather than using your frequent flyer points to pay. Don’t forget that you can also earn points for your credit card spend if you have a credit card that earns frequent flyer points!

Rather than paying an annual fee, there are a few ways to become a Qantas Wine Premium Member for free.

If you’re a member of the Qantas Business Rewards program, you’ll automatically receive a free Qantas Wine Premium membership when linking your Business Rewards and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts. (Qantas Business Rewards members also earn an extra 2 Business Rewards points per dollar on Qantas Wine purchases.)

Complimentary Qantas Wine Premium Membership is also offered as a benefit with several Australian credit cards. These include:

The Qantas American Express Ultimate credit card has a $450 annual fee, but it also comes with a $450 annual Qantas travel credit and Qantas Club lounge passes. That’s on top of the complimentary Qantas Wine Premium membership. With an uncapped earn rate of 1.25 Qantas points per dollar, it’s also a top-earner for Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

Complimentary membership is given to frequent flyers with Platinum One status, as well as Qantas Points Club members.

If you have Accor Plus membership and Accor ALL Gold, Platinum or Diamond status, you’ll also be automatically eligible for free Qantas Wine Premium membership. Simply link your Accor ALL and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts.

Qantas Wine offers free premium membership during special promotions from time to time as well, so keep an eye out for promo codes. Note that you won’t receive the complimentary joining gift if taking advantage of an offer for free membership.

If you’re already a Qantas Wine Premium member, also keep an eye out for a complimentary renewal offer.

Qantas Wine bonus points

The regular, generous bonus points offers from Qantas Wine is one of the reasons that the online alcohol retailer is so popular. Qantas Wine releases new bonus point offersĀ weekly, with large amounts of bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points typically available when buying a case of wine.

A typical Qantas Wine bonus points offer is around 10,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points with a $300 case of wine, although you can often find even better offers than this.

During a particularly good promotion, you could even earn 25,000 bonus Qantas points with a case of wine costing $480!

Earn up to 25,000 bonus Qantas points on Qantas Wine cases during the current promo ending 18 September 2021.

It would cost $369 to purchase 10,000 Qantas top-up points, so this is not only a cheaper way to buy Qantas points but you’ll also get a delicious case of wine!

As a Qantas Wine Premium member, you would also receive 900 regular Qantas points on a $300 case at the higher earn rate of 3 points per dollar. And if you’re a Qantas Business Rewards member with a linked Qantas account, you’d earn 600 points on top of that in your Business Rewards account.

They seem to be a bit thin on the ground at the moment, I received a delivery last week which did not have the usual discount voucher enclosed.

I signed up to premium in 2011 and have never had to pay the annual fee since ! From memory I was offered a bottle of red worth an alleged $125. I do receive a quarterly delivery which probably helps

Not sure if this is a new promotion, but as a Qantas Business Rewards member I was offered free Qantas Wines Premium membership. The email (received last week) included a promotion code to use when adding the $99 Premium Membership to my card, reducing the price to $0. The membership is added your individual QFF account. Terms and conditions include:

Qantas Business Rewards members that have provided an individual Qantas Frequent Flyer number in their Qantas Business Rewards account before a purchase can earn 2 Qantas Points per dollar spent. The individual Qantas Frequent Flyer number in the Qantas Business Rewards account must be added at checkout in order to earn points for the business. Qantas Points for the business are earned in addition to the points earned by the individual Qantas Frequent Flyer when that Qantas Frequent Flyer makes a purchase. Retrospective claims cannot be made. Qantas Points for business will be credited to the Qantas Business Rewards account within 30 days of purchase.

Complimentary Qantas Wine Premium membership is offered by Qantas Wine. An annual membership fee of $99 usually applies for Qantas Wine Premium membership but this will be waived for the individual nominated by the Qantas Business Rewards member, for each year that the business continues to be a Qantas Business Rewards member and makes a purchase from Qantas Wine within that year. Complimentary joining gift is not available with this offer. Qantas Wine Premium membership and its benefits are subject to the Qantas Wine Terms and Conditions. To join or purchase from Qantas Wine, you must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member aged 18 years or older and have an Australian delivery address. Qantas Wine Premium members will earn 3 Qantas Points per dollar on qantas.com/wine. This offer may be withdrawn at any time.

Obviously need to be a Qantas Business Rewards member, which requires an ABN.
