LoungePair Guide: Access Airport Lounges for Less

LoungePair guide
Buy airport lounge access for less with LoungePair.

Prefer to wait for your flight in the comfort of an airport lounge?

There are several ways to get into airport lounges. These include:

But if you don’t qualify through one of the above criteria – or perhaps you’re travelling on an airline that you don’t normally fly – another option could be to buy a lounge pass.

Many airport lounges offer single-entry passes for a fee. Although you can often buy these directly from the lounge operator, you might be able to get a better price using LoungePair!

What is LoungePair?

As the name suggests, LoungePair is a service that connects travellers with airport lounges around the world. Through LoungePair, you can buy access to hundreds of airport lounges – often at cheaper prices than you can get anywhere else.

To buy airport lounge access through LoungePair, you don’t need airline status or a Business Class ticket. You can use their partner lounges regardless of the airline you’re flying or the type of ticket you’ve booked. You just need to show your lounge access voucher and a same-day boarding pass at the door.

Why use LoungePair?

LoungePair is not the only place where you can buy one-time airport lounge passes. But it’s often the cheapest – and even if it’s not, you can easily check this because the LoungePair website also shows you the other places where you can buy a pass for the same lounge! The prices for all options are listed, and if it’s cheaper to buy elsewhere, you can simply click out to the other website.

You don’t need a membership to buy lounge access through LoungePair, as you would with the likes of Priority Pass.

After buying your pass from LoungePair you’ll receive it straight away. The pass is transferable and valid for six months.

There’s also a special discount available for AFF members! See below for details.

Which airport lounges partner with LoungePair?

LoungePair directly sells passes for around 440 lounges in approximately 250 airports around the world.

This includes the following six lounges in Australia:

AirportLounge
Adelaide (ADL)Plaza Premium Lounge
Brisbane (BNE)Plaza Premium Lounge
Melbourne (MEL)marhaba Lounge
Melbourne (MEL)Plaza Premium Lounge
Sydney (SYD)Plaza Premium Lounge (international departures)
Sydney (SYD)Plaza Premium Lounge (international arrivals)

Their website also lists options to purchase access to many other lounges that sell access, even if LoungePair doesn’t directly sell passes – so you can see all the available options. You can find the full list on the LoungePair website.

LoungePair sells the most passes to Australians for access to the following airport lounges:

  • Delhi (DEL) – Encalm Lounge
  • Taipei (TPE) – Plaza Premium Lounge
  • Phuket (HKT) – The Coral Lounge

Worldwide, LoungePair’s best-selling airports are Cancun (CUN) and Delhi (DEL).

Bid for sleeping pods

LoungePair also lets you bid for access to the sleep ‘n fly sleeping pods and showers at Dubai (DXB) and Doha (DOH) airports. This works a bit like bidding for an upgrade to Business Class on an airline. You can name your price for the use of a sleeping pod at a particular time, and if sleep ‘n fly accepts your bid then it’s yours.

The prices look reasonable!

I note the main lounge listing might be out of date in some places… like it lists the British Airways lounge for Amsterdam (been permanently closed for years!) But if you try to book it you are given options for lounges that are currently open (Aspire)

What currency are the LoungePair prices?

From what I have seen on the LoungePair website, eg Melbourne Marhaba, Priority Pass would be a cheaper option if you were to use the cheapest PP several times a year.

As a one off, LoungePair seems pretty average. With AFF discounts, then I guess it's competitive.
