The Benefits of Accor ALL Gold Status

Qantas Frequent Flyer members who applied for the recent free Accor status offer should have now received their upgrade to Accor Live Limitless (ALL) Gold status. This offer was open to Qantas Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One frequent flyers, as well as Points Club Plus members, who registered between 29 July and 12 August 2022.

If you applied for the Accor Gold status upgrade, you should now be able to find your digital Gold membership card within the Accor ALL app.

The status is valid until the end of 2023 and comes with all of the usual benefits of ALL Gold status. So, what exactly are those benefits?

ALL Gold status benefits

Accor’s loyalty program is not known for offering hugely generous status benefits. But a Gold card does give you access to some useful perks when staying at Accor properties. The following hotel brands are part of the Accor group:

Note that there generally aren’t any status benefits offered at Ibis Budget hotels. There is also a list of other specific Accor hotels and brands that don’t participate in the ALL program on Accor’s website, including Peppers Manor House and Grand Mercure Apartments The Vintage, Hunter Valley Hotel.

When staying at all other Accor hotels, ALL members can earn & redeem points and receive status benefits when booking direct with Accor or through an accredited travel agent. However, no points are awarded or status benefits received when booking through a third-party such as an online travel agent. This includes bookings made through Expedia, Booking.com or Qantas Hotels!

Here’s a summary of the benefits offered to ALL Gold members when staying on eligible rates at eligible hotels:

Early check-in or late checkout (subject to availability)

While ALL Silver members can request late check-out, Gold members have the option of either early check-in or late check-out. However, this benefit is subject to availability and hotels can refuse if the property is fully booked.

Room upgrade (subject to availability)

At some Accor hotel brands, Gold members will be automatically upgraded to the next available room category at the time of check-in. If an upgrade is unavailable, the hotel will at least try to allocate you an “enhanced” room in your booked room category, such as a room with a higher floor, better view or a corner room.

This benefit is not available at Ibis, Ibis Budget, Ibis Styles, Adagio Access or any other hotel that does not have more than one type of room category. It also excludes upgrades to villas and suites.

As upgrades are subject to availability, and many Qantas Frequent Flyer members now hold ALL Gold status from the recent promotion, upgrades could now be harder to come by in Australia for the foreseeable future!

Guaranteed room availability

Accor will make a room available for Gold members at sold-out properties when requested up to 3 days before arrival.

This benefit is not available at Adagio or Adagio Access hotels, and a stay of at least 7 nights is required to use this benefit at resort hotels. Blackout dates also apply.

Welcome amenity

Gold members will receive a welcome gift on arrival at their hotel, except at BreakFree, Ibis, Ibis Budget, Ibis Styles, Adagio Access, Greet and Jo&Joe properties.

The welcome gift varies by hotel, but often includes things like wine, chocolates, a cheese plate, a fruit platter or a bottle of water.

All other Silver & Classic member benefits

Of course, Gold members also receive the benefits afforded to Silver and base-level Classic members. Silver members receive a free welcome drink and, theoretically, priority check-in. All members also receive free wi-fi, although only Platinum and Diamond members are eligible for complimentary “premium wi-fi”.

Other benefits that are reserved for higher-tiered Platinum and Diamond members include free breakfast, Executive Lounge access and Suite Night Upgrades. See the Accor website for a full list of status tiers and benefits.

The Qantas partnership with Accor

In 2021, Qantas Frequent Flyer launched a partnership with Accor ALL to offer additional benefits to members of both loyalty programs who have linked their accounts.

When booking direct with Accor and staying at a hotel in the Asia-Pacific region, Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn 3 Qantas points per $1 spent (in addition to any ALL points earned).

Alternatively, when booking an Accor hotel in the Asia-Pacific region through Qantas Hotels, you can earn an extra Qantas point per dollar spent. But you won’t receive any Accor ALL benefits due to booking through a third-party.

For reference, Accor ALL points can be redeemed towards discounts off hotel stays or transferred to various airline loyalty programs. 2,000 ALL points are worth a €40 (~AU$58) discount off a hotel stay. (The ALL program uses Euros as its base currency as Accor is a French company.)

How to renew your ALL Gold status

If you’ve just received ALL Gold status as part of the Qantas Frequent Flyer promotion, your status will probably expire on 31 December 2023.

To renew your status into 2024, you would need to meet the usual requirements to attain or retain Gold status during the 2023 calendar year.

To earn or renew ALL Gold status until the end of the following year, you would normally need to complete either of the following during a calendar year:

  • Stay 30 nights at Accor hotels, or
  • Earn at least 7,000 Status points

Status points are earned for spending money at participating Accor brands. In general, you would earn 25 Status points for every €10 (~AU$14) spent on hotel nights and ancillaries during your stay like restaurant, spa or minibar purchases. Therefore, to qualify based on Status points, you would need to spend at least €2,800 (~AU$4,070) with Accor during 2023.

Status points are earned at lower rates at some brands. See the Accor website for details.

Nights or Status points earned during the 2022 calendar year will not count towards 2024 status qualification.

Seems like a decent offer?

While something for nothing is always nice, ALL Gold doesn't count for much. A welcome drink is about all that's guaranteed. Which I guess is why Accor are happy to hand out that status for the tens of thousands of QFF members who would be PCP/Silver or above.

I was just trying to work this out. The T&Cs don't mention anything about this, so I assume you'd receive it for the same amount of time as someone earning ALL Gold status the normal way - i.e. until the end of next year. I could be wrong though.

I’m sure someone will report back once their bump up comes through.

I had previously linked my ALL and QFF accounts when the arrangement came out some time ago. I have just registered via the link above and I suppose I will now be automatically upgraded to Gold.

For me, it is actually a good incentive to migrate myself across from IHG to ALL.
