Business class airfares from Australia to Europe are typically expensive. But the same is not true for flights from south-east Asia to Europe! Earlier this week we showed you how you can fly from Bangkok to London in Business class for less than $2,000 return. Now Qatar Airways, a Oneworld alliance member, has some excellent Business class deals from Jakarta, Indonesia to Milan, Italy. Return flights start from just $1,790 return! Qatar Airways Business sale fares are also available to Barcelona and Zurich for similar prices.

If you’re travelling from Australia to Europe, consider combining a Qatar Airways sale ticket with a cheap Economy return ticket from Australia to Jakarta. Alternatively, redeem Qantas points for Business class flights from Sydney to Jakarta; this will cost you 100,000 Qantas points plus $496 in taxes & charges, round-trip. Return Qantas Economy reward seats will cost you just 45,000 Qantas points and $256. The flight from Sydney to Jakarta takes around 7 hours.

You will probably need to stop over in Jakarta for at least one night between flights, but Australians no longer require a visa to enter Indonesia as tourists.

The Qatar Airways Business class product is excellent. That said, these particular Qatar Airways Business sale fares do not appear to include flights with the airline’s brand new “Qsuites”.

These flights book into “R” fare class, which earns Qantas Frequent Flyer points & status credits at “Business” rates. For a return trip from Jakarta to Milan, you would earn 320 status credits and 14,500 Qantas points. (You may consider crediting to a different frequent flyer program for a higher earn rate. See the Where to Credit website for a list of programs that you can credit these flights to.)

To get this price, you’ll need to commence travel by 30 November 2018, and stay between 3 days and 2 months at the destination. There is also a 5-day advance ticketing period. If you’re interested in a Doha stopover, one free stopover is permitted in either direction (but not both). This Qatar Airways Business sale ends on 30 May 2018 and tickets can be booked on the Qatar Airways website.
