How to Maximise Qantas Wine Bonus Points Offers

Enjoy wine and want to top-up your Qantas Frequent Flyer points? The Qantas Wine online store probably has a great deal for you!

When you buy from Qantas Wine, you can always earn at least 1 Qantas point per $1 spent. But you could earn more than 50 Qantas points per dollar by taking advantage of Qantas Wine’s excellent weekly bonus point offers when buying a case of wine!

When you buy a case from Qantas Wine, you can often get 10,000, 15,000 or even more bonus points with it! 10,000 Qantas points is already more than enough to book a reward flight.

In fact, the amount of money you’d spend on a case of wine with bonus points is often less than the cost of buying the same amount of Qantas points as top-up points. And when you buy top-up points from Qantas, you don’t get a case of nice wine to go with it!

The Qantas Wine bonus points offers generally change each week, and some are better than others. But when there are good deals available, they can be exceptionally good value!

When you order from Qantas Wine, the points will usually arrive in your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within a few days of the order being shipped. Occasionally, it can take a bit longer.

If you’re not a Qantas Wine Premium member, you can get free delivery on orders over $300. Qantas Wine Premium members get free delivery on orders of any amount.

Examples of great Qantas Wine deals

A “par” bonus points wine offer from Qantas Wine would be 10,000 bonus Qantas points for a case of wine costing around $300. But you can sometimes get even better offers, such as 18,000 points with a case of wine costing $350.

As an example of a current bonus points offer, you could earn 5,000 bonus Qantas points for buying a $95 bottle of Blue Pyrenees Richardson Reserve Shiraz 2018.

Those are just the bonus points – you’ll also get at least one base point per $1 spent, on top of any other bonuses (see below). If you’re looking to buy Qantas points, that’s an acquisition cost of less than 2 cents per point.

By comparison, it would cost $208 to buy 5,000 Qantas top-up points – and you wouldn’t get any wine with that.

As another example, Qantas Wine last week offered 24,000 bonus Qantas points if you bought a case of 12 bottles of Yalumba Barossa Valley Cabernet Shiraz 2017 for $480.

Where to find the latest and best Qantas Wine bonus point offers

All of the current Qantas Wine bonus point offers are advertised on this dedicated page of the store’s website. These deals are typically updated once per week.

The FlightFormula website also maintains a list of the top Qantas Wine deals, ranked according to the best value on a “points per dollar spent” basis.

Stack offers to get even more bonus points

The base points and the bonus points are just the beginning! Here are some ways that you can earn even more Qantas points when you buy wine…

Qantas Wine Premium members earn 3 points per $1

If you’re a Qantas Wine Premium member, you’ll earn 3 points per $1 on all purchases instead of the usual 1 point/$1.

Qantas Wine no longer sells Premium memberships individually. But you can become a Premium member for free if you:

Get an extra 2 points per $1 through Qantas Business Rewards

If you’re a Qantas Business Rewards member and link your account to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account, you’ll earn an extra 2 Qantas points per $1 spent with Qantas Wine via Qantas Business Rewards.

Since linking your Qantas Business Rewards account also automatically makes you a Qantas Wine Premium member, this means you’ll earn a total of 5 base Qantas points per $1 spent.

5,000 additional bonus points with your first order

If you’ve never ordered from Qantas Wine before, you can even get an additional 5,000 bonus Qantas points as a new customer when you spend at least $99.

You’d need to enter the promo code FIRSTORDER at the checkout. See the Qantas Wine website for details.

There’s also an unadvertised referral program. Both you and a friend can earn 5,000 bonus points if you order for the first time by calling 1800 505 004 and spend at least $350. You’ll need to quote your friend’s Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number.

Earn more bonus points when buying sustainable drops

When you buy a case of wine that’s designated as a “sustainable” wine, you’ll get at least an extra 250 Qantas points per case. These eco-wines are marked on the website with a green leaf (as shown to the left).

By buying a sustainable wine, you’ll also be completing one of the five activities required to reach Qantas Green Tier. Green Tier membership comes with a choice of 50 bonus status credits or 10,000 bonus points.

Discounts for Points Club members

Each year, Qantas Points Club members receive a $50 voucher to spend at Qantas Wine. Points Club Plus members get two $50 vouchers.

In addition, Points Club Plus members can get a 10% discount off all Qantas Wine purchases, excluding Penfolds products.

Are Qantas Wine subscriptions worth it?

Another way to earn lots of bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points is by taking out a Qantas Wine subscription.

With a subscription, you’ll receive 12 bottles of wine every three months for a fixed quarterly price. You’ll also receive bonus points for every quarter that you receive a delivery of wine, and an additional allotment of bonus points after the fourth consecutive quarter.

For example, with the “Wishlist Red” subscription you could earn 150,000 Qantas points in a year for a cost of $3,000. You’d also receive 48 bottles of quality red wine.

These are generally reasonable deals, and if you prefer to “set and forget” then they may work for you. However, you could earn the same amount of points at a lower cost by buying individual cases of wine when there are great bonus point deals available.
