Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (October 2018)

Qantas Double Status Credits Offer (October 2018)Qantas has just launched yet another Double Status Credits promotion! Between today and Tuesday 16 October, you can earn double Qantas status credits on all new Qantas flight bookings for travel between 23 October 2018 and 30 June 2019.

Status credits count towards your Qantas status tier. By booking flights during the current Double Status Credits offer, you can fast-track your way to Silver, Gold, Platinum or Platinum One status with the flying kangaroo! You’ll then receive benefits such as lounge access and priority at the airport whenever you fly with Qantas and its Oneworld partner airlines.

Interestingly, it’s only been two months since the last double Qantas status credits promo in August. It’s rare for these kinds of promotions – which normally take place only once or twice per year – to happen in such quick succession.

Things to know about Qantas’ October 2018 Double Status Credits offer

To be eligible, you must register for the promotion on the Qantas website.

The terms & conditions of this promo state that only flights marketed and operated by Qantas will earn Double Status Credits. In other words, you’ll need to book a Qantas flight with a “QF” flight number, and not a flight on a partner airline (such as Emirates).

Double status credits won’t be earned if you cancel your booking or change the dates so that you’re no longer travelling between 23 October and 30 June next year. Commonwealth government airfares are also ineligible for this offer, as are bookings made using gift vouchers that are redeemed outside of the promotional period.

Double status credits earned during this promotion do not count towards the loyalty bonus, nor to Platinum One Bonus Reward earn requirements. And if you’re currently completing a Qantas status challenge, the bonus status credits also won’t count towards this.

Where should I fly to maximise the Double Status Credits offer?

If you wish to take advantage of this deal, you may be thinking about booking a Qantas status run.

At the moment, probably the best status run available is a return Qantas Business class trip from Adelaide, Melbourne or Brisbane to Jakarta (via Sydney) for $2,000. For this trip you’ll earn 640 status credits at a cost of $3.13 per status credit.

And don’t forget about the current sale on Finnair round-the-world tickets! You can earn double status credits for any Qantas-operated flights on these bookings as long as these are booked with “QF” flight numbers.
