Qatar Airways Privilege Club Qmiles can be redeemed for travel on Qatar Airways, or any other airline in the Oneworld alliance:
You can also use Qatar Airways Privilege Club Qmiles to book flights on any of Qatar Airways’ other partner airlines:
- Middle East Airlines (MEA)
- Bangkok Airways
Qatar Airways uses distance-based award charts, and award pricing is not particularly competitive. For award flights on Qatar Airways, you can use the Qcalculator to determine the number of Qmiles required. For partner airline awards, see the award chart on the Qatar Airways website.
In addition to taxes & carrier charges, Qatar Airways also charges a per-sector booking fee of USD25-75 for award tickets. Infant award tickets are only available on Qatar Airways operated flights in Economy class. Award tickets are not available in First class on Qatar Airways A380 services between Doha and London.
You can book award travel on the Qatar Airways website, but you’ll need to have enough Qmiles in your account to search for award availability. (If you haven’t yet transferred points to your Privilege Club account, use the Qantas, British Airways or Japan Airlines websites to search for Oneworld award availability instead. Otherwise, you could try calling Qatar Airways.)
In general, this program is neither the best value nor easiest to use of the Oneworld frequent flyer programs. Consider transferring your credit card points elsewhere. If you would like to fly on Qatar Airways, remember that you can also redeem points/miles with any other Oneworld frequent flyer program – including Qantas Frequent Flyer – to do so.
Australian Frequent Flyer has a Qatar Airways discussion forum.
