It is possible to buy Qantas points. While not great value, buying points is useful if you are just short of frequent flyer points needed for an upgrade or award flight.
For the second time this year, Qantas has cut its fuel surcharges following an ongoing decline in fuel prices. Qantas points will now be earned domestic flights within New Zealand that are operated by low-cost subsidiary Jetstar. As of last week, Jetstar flyers on all New Zealand domestic flights will earn at least 400 Qantas points, even on the cheapest Starter fares.
