Best Credit Cards for Airport Lounge Access in 2026

The Australian credit card market is a competitive space. So, many banks offer additional benefits to cardholders as an enticement to sign up for their cards. These include things like complimentary travel insurance, bonus credit card sign-up points and even sometimes free flights.
Another benefit that some credit cards offer is airport lounge access.
Around a dozen Australian credit cards offer two complimentary Qantas Club or Virgin Australia Lounge passes each year. Other credit cards come with Standard Priority Pass membership, including two complimentary Priority Pass lounge visits each year.
Plus, many American Express cardholders are entitled to two annual visits to the international Amex Centurion airport lounges in Sydney or Melbourne.
A couple of Australian credit cards even go a step further, offering unlimited access to a global network of airport lounges for as long as you keep the card! These cards have relatively high annual fees, but it can still work out to be a great deal compared to the cost of buying an equivalent airport lounge membership outright.
Looking for a credit card with some great lounge access benefits? Here are some of the best Australian cards for lounge access for 2026…
American Express Velocity Platinum
The recently refreshed American Express Velocity Platinum credit card comes with unlimited access to Virgin Australia Lounges whenever you fly Virgin from an airport where a lounge is available. And at a cost of just $440/year for this card, it’s cheaper than actually buying a Virgin Australia Lounge membership!

This card also gets you a complimentary return Virgin Australia domestic flight every year, as well as a high Velocity Points-earning rate. Although you don’t get an included guest allowance with every lounge visit, you do get two guest passes that you can use to bring travelling companions into the Virgin Australia Lounge with you each year.
Considering the annual fee, the Amex Velocity Platinum card offers fairly unbeatable value.

MyCard Prestige
Formerly known as the Citi Prestige, the MyCard Prestige credit card currently offers 15 Priority Pass lounge visits each year on both the normal and Qantas variants. Previously, the Prestige card gave unlimited Priority Pass access for yourself and one guest. Now, you can use passes for yourself and any guests travelling with you, up to the maximum number of passes remaining on your card.
You can use these passes to access over 1,700 Priority Pass lounges worldwide, including around a dozen in Australia. Plus, you can claim a $36 food & beverage credit whenever you fly at airport bars & restaurants that participate in Priority Pass! There are around 30 of these in Australia, including at Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, Townsville and Gold Coast airports.
If you’re travelling with others, your guest(s) can also get $36 worth of free food and drinks. You can use this benefit both before and after your flight.

By comparison, a Priority Pass Prestige membership comes with unlimited lounge visits for the member and costs USD469 annually, or around ~AU$704 at the current exchange rate.
The annual fee on the MyCard Prestige card is almost the same cost, but you don’t have to pay extra for guests – each person who enters the lounge with you comes out of your included annual visits. But you only get 15 lounge entries or eatery credits per year, so this might not be as suitable for heavy users.
Considering the $700 annual fee ($749 for the Qantas variant), the MyCard Prestige card doesn’t have a great deal of earning power as a points-earning credit card. You’ll earn the equivalent of 0.5 frequent flyer points or 1 Flybuys point per dollar spent on the card. But you will earn 2-3x more points when spending with major airlines, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets and petrol stations, as well as when shopping online or overseas.
The MyCard Prestige card also offers various other travel benefits including international travel insurance, the fourth night free on Luxury Escapes bookings and cash back with Uber Premier.
American Express Platinum
With a $1,450 annual fee, the American Express Platinum charge card is not exactly a cheap option. But its lounge access coverage is seriously impressive.
