Earning points

With a St.George Amplify Rewards Signature card, you’ll earn 1.5 Amplify Points per $1 spent on eligible transactions (excluding government payments). That’s effectively 0.75 Virgin Australia Velocity points or 0.5 Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles per dollar spent.

There is no monthly or annual point-earning cap. You can earn an unlimited number of points at the full rate.

Amplify Rewards points do not expire as long as your account remains active. Therefore, it would be a good idea to keep them in your Amplify account until you’re ready to use them (or wait for a good bonus offer before transferring them to an airline)!

Please note that it’s not possible to transfer Amplify Points to Qantas Frequent Flyer. However, St.George also offers the Amplify Qantas Signature card that earns Qantas points exclusively.

Birthday bonus

Each year, within four weeks of your birthday, St.George will credit an additional 10% of the points you’ve earned over the previous 12 months to your Amplify Rewards account! This means that you’re effectively earning 0.825 Velocity points or 0.55 KrisFlyer miles per dollar spent, assuming you keep your card open until after you’ve received your birthday bonus for that year.

Earning points for ATO & government payments

Unfortunately, payments made directly to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) or other government bodies in Australia with your St.George Amplify Rewards Signature card are not eligible to earn points.

However, you can use a payment service such as pay.com.au to pay tax and other bills with this card, and still earn points at the full rate!

Using Amplify Points

Amplify Points can be converted to the loyalty programs of the following airlines, with a minimum transfer of 3,000 points per transaction:

Transfer partners1 Amplify point equals…
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer0.33 miles
Virgin Australia Velocity0.5 points

See our Overview of Amplify Rewards Transfer Partners for more information.

Alternatively, you could redeem your points through the Amplify Rewards program for rewards including:

  • Gift cards
  • Merchandise including tech gadgets, appliances, wine or movie tickets
  • Travel bookings including flights, hotels and car hire
