Earn up to 110 Qantas Status Credits Without Flying
Qantas Frequent Flyer has launched an exciting new promotion that lets you earn up to 110 status credits by earning points on the ground.
To take advantage of this offer, you would first need to register on the Qantas website by 31 October 2025. Qantas will send you an email confirmation once you’ve registered. You’ll then earn status credits when earning at least 1,000 Qantas Points in eight different categories for activities completed between 1 October and 31 December 2025.
You’ll earn either 10 or 20 status credits for each category that you earn 1,000 points in.
The points would need to arrive in your Qantas Frequent Flyer account by 31 March 2026 to be eligible. Qantas says it will award the bonus status credits within 6-8 weeks after you earn enough points in each category. You can only earn the bonus status credits once per category.
The status credits earned from this promotion also count towards lifetime status, but not towards any Loyalty Bonus or Qantas status challenge requirements.
A rare opportunity to earn status credits on the ground
Airlines generally only award status credits from flying. However, Qantas has previously offered limited-time opportunities to earn status credits on the ground during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“While flying will always be at the core of the program, this offer is about expanding the ways we recognise our members both in the air and on the ground,” Qantas Loyalty CEO Andrew Glance said.
“Members are already earning two-thirds of their Qantas Points on the ground, and we expect this will be particularly appealing to our ‘frequent buyers’ who might not fly as often but are very engaged with the program and our hundreds of partners.”
110 status credits is the equivalent of the status credits earned from 11 one-way Economy Red e-Deal flights from Sydney to Melbourne, or a return Qantas Economy Saver ticket from Singapore to London. These can help you to upgrade to a higher Qantas Frequent Flyer status tier or to renew your existing status.

Earning points in each of these categories
Depending on your circumstances, you might find it easier to earn Qantas Points in some categories than others.
For example, many Australians have a Qantas points-earning credit card or could otherwise earn 1,000 points via Qantas Pay. And Qantas has plenty of eligible shopping partners in Australia.

Qantas Points on everyday purchases
The Food and Wine category should also be relatively straightforward for most Australians. All you’d need to do is convert 2,000 Everyday Rewards points – which you can earn by shopping at Woolworths or Big W – into 1,000 Qantas Points.
In the Fuel and Cars category, a rental car booking with Avis or Budget would earn you some or all of the points required. A few bonus points offers from BP Rewards could also get you there, if you’ve linked your BP Rewards account to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.
The Utilities and Services category is a bit harder as it requires you to either use a specific energy or solar panel provider. (On the plus side, if you are going to make the effort to switch companies, this could also help you to achieve Qantas Green Tier.)
In the Health, Leisure and Entertainment category, you could earn 1,000 points as a sign-up bonus when joining either Binge or Kayo. (That would be easier than earning the points through HOYTS, which would require you to become a HOYTS Rewards VIP member for $18 and then spend $500 on movies or snacks.)
