5 Great Strategies to Earn More Virgin Points

This week our members share their best tips and tricks to earn the most points in Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program. These strategies can help you to earn thousands of extra points through everyday activities!

Here are the top five Virgin tips & tricks as suggested by our members:

5. Shop with Virgin partners where possible

Points can be earned on the ground with a wide variety of Virgin Velocity partners. Points can be earned for filling up at BP petrol stations, renting a car and even paying your energy bills with Lumo Energy. Plus, online shoppers can take advantage of the Velocity eStore, where points are earned for shopping with stores including Apple, The Body Shop and Chemist Warehouse.

4. Earn free points by completing surveys

Velocity points can be earned for free by participating in e-rewards online surveys. There are even 750 bonus points on offer for completing the first survey.

3. Pay for everything with a point-earning credit card

Points can be earned for virtually anything by paying with a Velocity co-branded credit card! Amex, Virgin Money and NAB all offer Velocity point-earning credit cards. Many other credit cards also allow point transfers into the Velocity program (and Virgin is currently giving a 15% bonus for transferring, until 30 November).

2. Take advantage of outstanding credit card promotions

A number of credit cards are currently offering tens of thousands of bonus sign-up points just for getting the card. Plus, certain Amex cards offer a free return Virgin Australia flight every year as a standard benefit!

1. Use “Family pooling”

It’s cool to pool – points and status credits, that is! A unique benefit of the Velocity Frequent program is the ability to direct an entire household’s points and status credits (earned from flying) into a single account. This can help not only to maximise point earning potential, but also to reach the heights of Silver, Gold or Platinum status more quickly. This is especially useful for families that travel together.
