Velocity 15% EOY Transfer Bonus – November 2019

Velocity 15% EOY Transfer Bonus - November 2019
This month, Velocity says bonuses aren’t just for bosses.

It’s that time of year again! Every six months – in May and November – Velocity Frequent Flyer offers bonus points as an incentive to transfer points to Velocity from various credit card reward programs, as well as hotel loyalty programs and Flybuys.

This month, Virgin Australia is calling its promotion the “15% EOY bonus”. If you transfer points from one of 19 participating loyalty programs by 30 November 2019, you’ll receive 15% bonus Velocity points.

As an added bonus for ANZ customers, you’ll receive an additional 15% bonus points when transferring this month from ANZ Rewards or ANZ Business Rewards. That’s a total of 30% bonus points.

You can also earn 15% bonus points this month when transferring Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles to Velocity. This is a nice bonus if you were planning to transfer miles anyway, however it would rarely make sense to do this as the transfer ratio is 1.55:1. With the 15% bonus, the transfer rate is still 1.35:1 – which was the standard rate until the end of last year, anyway. In general, KrisFlyer miles are worth more than Velocity points so that is still not a good deal for most people. Unfortunately, the transfer bonus does not apply in the other direction, i.e. converting Velocity points to KrisFlyer miles.

Here is the full selection of programs participating in Velocity’s 15% EOY bonus offer for November 2019:

Full terms and conditions are available on the Velocity website.

It is disappointing to see that CommBank Awards is once again not participating in this promotion. But the other “Big 4” banks are, as well as Amex, Citibank, HSBC, Suncorp, Diners Club and Bank of Queensland.

You can also now transfer Coles Flybuys points to Velocity Frequent Flyer and earn 15% bonus points. Unfortunately, the annual transfer limit of 138,000 Flybuys points still applies.

This promotion ends on 30 November 2019. The next transfer promo is likely to run in May 2020.
