Velocity Double Status Credits Offer (February 2019)

How to Maximise Velocity Double Status Credits (February 2019)Great news for Virgin Australia flyers…

Virgin has announced a brand new Velocity double status credits offer! By taking advantage of this promotion, you can reach the heights of Silver, Gold or Platinum status with Virgin Australia with just half the usual amount of flying.

How to take advantage of this Velocity Double Status Credit offer

To earn Velocity double status credits, you must first register using the link on the Virgin Australia website. Then, book any eligible Virgin Australia flight between 1 and 12 February 2019, for travel until 28 December 2019. You can book as many eligible flights as you like, and they will all earn double Virgin Australia status credits.

With this offer, you’ll only earn Velocity double status credits for flights that are both operated and marketed by Virgin Australia. This means a flight with a “VA” flight number on a Virgin Australia aircraft. Codeshare flights operated by partner airlines will not earn double Velocity status credits.

You won’t earn double status credits for existing bookings – only brand new bookings made between 1 and 12 February 2019. According to the offer terms & conditions, it may take up to 4 weeks after flying for the extra status credits to post to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account.

When booking Virgin Australia flights, don’t forget to use a Virgin Australia discount code to save up to 10% on your airfare!

The most recent double status credit promotion from Virgin Australia was in November last year, but this only applied to flights to/from New Zealand.

Earning Virgin Australia status

You’ll need to earn 250, 500 or 1,000 Velocity status credits to earn Silver, Gold or Platinum status, respectively. (A lower target of 200, 400 or 800 status credits applies when renewing your existing Silver, Gold or Platinum status.) In addition, there is a requirement to fly a minimum number of flights that are marketed by Virgin Australia (i.e. with a “VA” flight number). Earning double status credits means you’ll reach these targets twice as quickly!

Don’t forget that Virgin Australia also offers family pooling. If you have family pooling set up, you could maximise this offer by signing up your partner and crediting flights for both of you into one account.
