Thinking of escaping to the Northern Territory this winter? Qantas is awarding triple points on flights to the NT when you register on the Qantas website and book by 30 April 2021, for travel until 30 September 2021. For a limited time, you can also earn bonus Qantas points on Qantas Hotels bookings and holiday packages in the NT.

The triple Qantas Frequent Flyer points offer is available on eligible Qantas flights to Darwin or Alice Springs from Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Canberra. You can also earn triple Qantas points on Jetstar flights from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane to Uluru (Ayers Rock), but only if you purchase a Jetstar Max bundle.

You can register and book up to 11.59pm (AEST) on 30 April 2021, and can earn triple points for travel between 1 May and 30 September 2021.

According to the offer terms & conditions, this offer is only available to Australian residents.

You would normally earn 1,450 Qantas points (and 20 status credits) for a one-way Economy Red e-Deal fare from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane to Darwin. With triple points, this would increase to 4,350 Qantas points. Note that you won’t also earn triple points on any status bonus points you might earn as Silver, Gold, Platinum or Platinum One frequent flyer.

A Jetstar Max fare to Uluru would normally earn 30 status credits and 1,100 Qantas points – which would increase to 3,300 Qantas points with this promotion.

There are also still a limited number of half-off flights available to Darwin, Alice Springs and Uluru as part of the federal government’s tourism support package.

It is not 100% clear whether flights from Darwin, Alice Springs or Uluru would also earn triple points. One would assume this would be the case, but the terms & conditions only refer to flights to these destinations.

If you’re flying to Darwin, beware that many of the Qantas flights returning from Darwin to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane are red-eye flights departing in the middle of the night.

Under the Qantas Fly Flexible policy, it’s possible to make fee-free date changes after booking. As long as your new travel dates are within the offer period (i.e. for travel up to 30 September), you should still earn triple Qantas points even if you change your booking at a later stage.

Until 30 April 2021, you can also earn triple Qantas points on Qantas Hotels bookings in the Northern Territory – bringing this up from 3 to 9 points per $1 spent. In addition, you can combine the “triple points on flights” offer with 5,000 bonus Qantas points on NT holiday packages booked by 30 April.
