If you have an Australian MasterCard credit or debit card, you could be earning bonus Qantas points on everyday purchases. By registering for Qantas My Card Offers, you’ll receive weekly offers of bonus points for shopping at program partners.

To participate in Qantas My Card Offers, you’ll need to register and link one or more MasterCard cards. You’ll then receive weekly bonus point offers by email. These offers are unique to your account, but you’ll generally be rewarded with bonus Qantas points for spending a certain amount at specific stores.

To receive the bonus points, you must activate the offer in advance. Then, pay with a linked MasterCard credit or debit card, selecting “credit”. The Qantas points can take up to 30 days to arrive in your frequent flyer account.

My Card Offers are personalised, based on your spending habits. This does mean that, by linking your credit card, Qantas will have access to your credit card’s transaction history. The terms & conditions also state that Qantas will share your personal information with MasterCard.

The points earned from Qantas My Card Offers are in addition to any points you may already be earning for everyday spend on your credit card. But one of the handy features of My Card Offers is that you don’t even need a credit card to earn points. Debit cards, including Qantas Cash cards, can also be linked.

Qantas is also currently offering new My Card Offers customers up to 2,250 bonus points. You’ll earn extra points for your first three eligible shops by linking your card/s by 24 June and shopping by 30 June 2018.

Qantas My Card Offers is similar to Velocity Daily, which allows you to earn bonus Velocity points with Visa credit cards. But the Velocity Daily offers are geared more towards small businesses and are currently only available as part of a trial in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

If you do sign up to Qantas Card Offers, beware that it may be difficult to remove any linked cards down the track.
