Fifth-Freedom Routes on Oneworld AirlinesIf you want to fly with a Oneworld airline, but aren’t flying to or from a Oneworld hub airport, it can be worth looking for Oneworld fifth-freedom routes.

Seven of the Oneworld member airlines operate 22 fifth-freedom flights all around the world. This creates more opportunities for passengers booking a Oneworld Explorer round-the-world ticket, redeeming points for a Oneworld Award, or just looking for ways to earn or redeem points on Oneworld airlines.

For example, say that you want to travel from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. There are no Oneworld airlines with bases at either of these airports… but Qatar Airways serves the route daily as a fifth-freedom service!

To make it easier for you to find these opportunities, we’ve created a complete list of all fifth-freedom routes on Oneworld airlines. Included in the list are flights entirely outside of the airline’s home country for which it is possible to buy a standalone ticket. This list is accurate as of July 2019:

British Airways:
  • Singapore-Sydney
  • Antigua-Tobago
  • Antigua-Providenciales
  • Antigua-St Kitts
  • Nassau-Grand Cayman
Cathay Pacific:
  • Vancouver-New York
  • Bangkok-Singapore
  • Dubai-Bahrain
  • Taipei-Seoul

LATAM Airlines:

Royal Jordanian:
