Goal setting for the collection of frequent flyer points keeps many of our members on track and focused on the end game. This week one member opines that without a clear goal their ability or willingness to earn maximum points diminishes. So in setting a clear travel route and date of anticipated departure, a goal is born and the thirst for points is rejuvenated.
One member bemoans that they find collecting point’s very easy but struggles to turn the points into achieving their travel goal. The phrase “easy to earn, harder to burn” is commonly trumpeted by some dissatisfied QFF members. Another finds it almost impossible to effectively concentrate on earning points if they do not have a clear goal in mind.
Another member always has a goal and is planning holidays months – and sometimes years – in advance and so their motivation never wanes. Some members have a less defined goal and focus on a numerical figure. For one member, the magic number was 560,000 points and having met that goal, motivation declined.
