Excellent value & award availability: Redeem your Velocity points to fly Business Class to South Africa!

From safaris to spectacular mountains and beaches, South Africa has lots to offer. And getting there with Virgin Australia Velocity points has never been easier!

Virgin Australia partners with South African Airways, which flies daily from Perth to Johannesburg. From Johannesburg, South African offers connections to many destinations across southern Africa including Durban, Cape Town and Victoria Falls.

If you’ve been thinking about a trip to South Africa, Velocity points can help you get there. There is tons of reward seat availability on the direct Perth-Johannesburg flight, including in Business class. Many flights have at least two seats available, and some even have up to 5 seats available in Business!

Flying Business class to Johannesburg will set you back 78,000 Velocity points and just $79.61 in taxes, one-way. Plus, you can even connect onwards to destinations such as Durban, Port Elizabeth and Victoria Falls for no extra points! For example, flying from Perth to Victoria Falls (via Johannesburg) also costs 78,000 points and just $106.41 taxes.

Don’t live in Perth? You can redeem your Velocity points for a reward seat to Perth on Virgin Australia and connect to the South African Airways flight.

South African Airways is a member of Star Alliance. So if you happen to have a balance of Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles, you can also redeem them for South African Airways flights. The Perth-Johannesburg flight will cost you 72,500 KrisFlyer miles (Business class, one-way) and a similar amount of taxes. But when redeeming KrisFlyer miles, you can fly onwards to anywhere in central or southern Africa (including Namibia, Madagascar and Ethiopia) for the same price.
