The Ultimate Fiji Airways Business Class Seat Guide

Fiji Airways is a Oneworld Connect member based in Nadi, Fiji. Owned predominantly by the Fijian government and Qantas, it flies to destinations across the South Pacific, Asia and North America. That includes five Australian destinations – Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and since July 2023, Canberra.

From Australia, you can fly with Fiji Airways to Fiji or onwards to destinations in the Pacific or North America. Following the recent delivery of the airline’s fourth Airbus A350-900, Fiji Airways now offers fully lie-flat beds in Business on all flights from Nadi to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver. (Airbus A330s may still be scheduled on these routes from time to time, so check the aircraft type when booking.)

Fiji Airways often has competitive airfares available out of Australia. As it’s a Qantas Frequent Flyer partner, you can also redeem Qantas Points for Classic Flight Reward seats on Fiji Airways.

If you’d like to use your Qantas Points to get to North America, Fiji Airways may have award availability on dates when Qantas or other partner airlines do not. As an added bonus, you won’t pay any carrier charges when redeeming points for Fiji Airways flights – just the points and any government or airport taxes.

Fiji Airways passengers booked in Economy also have the opportunity to upgrade using the airline’s Bula Bid Upgrade platform.

So, what type of seats can you expect when flying Fiji Airways in Business Class? This guide explains the different seats offered on each of Fiji Airways’ aircraft types.

Fiji Airways Airbus A350-900

The Airbus A350-900 XWB is Fiji Airways’ flagship international aircraft and features the airline’s best product.

The A350 is the only aircraft type in the Fiji Airways fleet with fully lie-flat beds. Each seat also comes with direct aisle access due to the 1-2-1 reverse herringbone configuration.

These modern planes are also fitted with large in-flight entertainment screens for every passenger and Wi-Fi is available on the Fiji Airways A350 fleet.

Fiji Airways Airbus A330

Fiji Airways operates both the Airbus A330-200 and Airbus A330-300. The same Business class seats are used on both types.

On the Airbus A330s, Fiji Airways offers Business Class seating in a 2-2-2 configuration. Each seat reclines to create an angle-flat bed.

While the Business Class seats are reasonably comfortable on the A330, they are not fully lie-flat and passengers in the window seats don’t enjoy direct aisle access, as is the case on the A350.

Fiji Airways Boeing 737

On its Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, Fiji Airways offers two rows of reclining Business Class seats in a standard 2-2 layout.

Personal in-flight entertainment TV screens are available at every seat. Wi-Fi and live TV are available on Boeing 737 MAX-8 jets.

Fiji Link ATR 72-600

Fiji Link, the regional subsidiary of Fiji Airways, also offers Business Class in the first two rows of its regional ATR 72 turboprop aircraft.

With a Business Class ticket on a Fiji Link ATR 72-600 flight, you get better service and catering on board. There are also the usual Business Class benefits on the ground like priority check-in, extra bags and lounge access (if available).

But the seat itself is no different to an Economy Class seat. Just the headrest is a different colour and there’s a curtain divider between the two cabins. There is no real in-flight entertainment on these planes.

The first row on the ATR 72 is an exit row with a bit more legroom. If you’re in row 2 or beyond, you’ll get 31 inches of seat pitch.
