This week, NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet made a huge announcement that Australians will finally be allowed to leave the country – and return without quarantine – from 1 November 2021. That’s just over two weeks away!

There are some conditions. For example, Australians will need to be fully vaccinated, will need a negative COVID-19 test before returning to Australia, and this will only apply to Australian residents, permanent residents and their immediately family members – which will soon include parents of Australians.

It’s great news, but there’s a lot to digest and unpack. To help with this, Alan Lam from Netwave Travel joined Matt on Episode 71 of the AFF on AIR podcast. The discussion includes the details of Australia’s new international travel requirements, which airlines to fly with, the rules for transiting via international airports, COVID-19 travel insurance, and more!

Also in this episode, how to leverage your elite airline status to get your status matched by another airline.
