Wondering what 100,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer Points can get you?

The value of Qantas Points depends on how you spend them. For example, when redeeming points for gift cards, you could expect to get approximately $500 worth of value from 100,000 Qantas Points. Or if you used your points for Classic Plus reward flights, you’d get between $1,000-$1,250 in value from those points.

You can often get even more value when redeeming points for Classic Flight Rewards or upgrades. These are generally the two best value ways to redeem Qantas points.

In this article, we show you some great ways you could spend 100,000 Qantas Points…

One-way Qantas Business Class to Japan

Japan is a popular destination for many Qantas Frequent travellers. Qantas flies daily from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on the Airbus A330.

You can book from Sydney and Melbourne for 98,400 Qantas Points and $316 in taxes & carrier charges.  Alternatively, booking from Brisbane comes at just 82,100 Qantas Points and $313 in taxes.

Return Business Class to Fiji

Fiji Airways is one of Qantas’ many partner airlines. For 87,200 Qantas Points, plus around $303 in taxes, you could book a return Business Class flight from Sydney to Nadi flying Fiji Airways! For the same number of points, you could also fly direct to Fiji from Brisbane or Canberra.

To maximise the experience, try to book one of the Airbus A350 flights between Sydney and Nadi. On this aircraft, Business passengers get a super comfortable lie-flat bed.

5 round-trip Qantas domestic Economy flights

It costs 9,200 Qantas Points, plus taxes & carrier charges, to book a one-way Qantas flight on routes up to 600 miles. This covers routes such as Sydney-Melbourne, Sydney-Brisbane, Melbourne-Adelaide, Brisbane-Mackay, Canberra-Brisbane, Melbourne-Hobart and Sydney-Launceston.

100,000 Qantas Points would be enough to book five round-trip Qantas Economy Class trips on any of these routes!

5 one-way Qantas domestic Business Class flights

A one-way Qantas Business Class flight on routes up to 600 miles, including all of the routes listed above, costs 19,300 Qantas Points (plus taxes & carrier charges). So, 100,000 Qantas Points would be enough for five short Business Class flights.

One-way Business Class to Malaysia

Malaysia Airlines is a Qantas and Oneworld airline partner with several flights to Australian cities. For 90,000 Qantas Points and $135 in taxes, you can book a one-way flight from Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney to Kuala Lumpur. Departing from Perth comes at 73,400 points and $124 in taxes & carrier charges.

Malaysia Airlines will fly the Airbus A330neo on all flights to Australia by the middle of this year, replacing their venerable standard A330s. This modern aircraft features an improved seat with enclosed doors, as well as direct aisle access for all.

Up to 16 Qantas Business Class upgrades

To upgrade from a Qantas Economy Red e-Deal fare on routes like Sydney-Melbourne, you’d need to spend 12,500 Qantas Points. So, 100,000 Qantas Points would stretch as far as eight upgrades from Red e-Deal tickets.

Alternatively, upgrading from Qantas Economy Flex fares to Business costs only 6,200 Points. So with 100,000 Qantas Points you could even upgrade 16 times from Economy Flex to Business Class.

17 one-way Jetstar flights

When you use Qantas points to fly Jetstar, including Jetstar Japan, you pay around 20% fewer points than you would to fly on a Qantas aircraft.

However, it costs just 5,700 Qantas Points (plus taxes & charges) to fly Jetstar on shorter routes up to 600 miles such as Melbourne-Sydney. With 100,000 Qantas Points, you could book as many as 17 one-way Jetstar flights.

When booking Qantas Classic Reward tickets in Jetstar Economy Class, you’ll receive a complimentary baggage allowance but no food or entertainment on board.

Emirates First Class to New Zealand

For just 65,300 Qantas Points (plus around $240 in taxes & carrier charges), you could fly Emirates First Class one-way from Sydney to Christchurch.

Emirates operates daily Airbus A380 flights on this route. On this aircraft, Emirates First Class passengers can even use the on-board shower, as well as the bar!

These are just a few ideas…

This article contains a more detailed list of what you can do with different amounts of Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

Upgrade Business to First on QF1 SYD-LHR ...

A touch over 100k but EK F SIN-MEL would be my pick. The perfect timing for a very long, boozy lunch, and getting into MEL at a reasonable hour to sober up. The low ++ is just icing on the cake. I know it's days are numbered though... (do we have a firm end date?)

QF F HKG-SYD or CX F HKG-TYO would also be up there for the excellent lounges at HKG - especially for those who don't hold OWE and wouldn't otherwise be able to get in.

I am a sucker for F awards when they're day flights. Generally speaking I'd prefer to save my points and go J if it's a night flight and I just want a flat bed.

Taking the family to Lord Howe would also be a worthwhile redemption.

I'm with @serfty upgrading SYD-LHR to F, but no one-way full-fare international redemptions; these would leave you with a one-way international revenue return, which would be pretty expensive (except from NZ).

I would find it difficult to use them. have been trying the last 2 years to use Mrsdrron's points on flights we want.
Had finally got J awards on JAL SIN - HND but then they go and cancel our cruise so not needed..
Back to the drawing boards.

Looks like we are in luck. And some points to spare as well. 🤗

Add another stop on our travels in March. Would be enough to add J to HKG before going to cough.
