Up to 25% Bonus Velocity Points on Transfers - May 2019Velocity Frequent Flyer’s twice-yearly promotion on points transfers is back! This time around, you can earn up to 25% bonus Velocity points when transferring your points from participating credit card and hotel rewards programs to Velocity Frequent Flyer (or a generous 50% bonus if you have ANZ Rewards points).

Velocity Frequent Flyer runs a similar month-long promotion every May and November. The only thing that changes between offers is the amount of bonus points offered and the participating program partners.

In the May 2019 offer, there are 15-25% bonus Velocity points on offer. Many banks, hotel and supermarket loyalty programs are participating this time around, including CommBank Awards which was notably absent from both of last year’s offers. However, the Amplify Rewards program of St George, Bank SA and Bank of Melbourne is not taking part in this promotion.

This promotion runs until 31 May 2019. No registration is required and full details are available on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website.

By comparison, last November’s promotion was for 15% bonus points. And last May’s offer was 15-40% bonus points, depending on the amount transferred.

 

How many bonus Velocity points can I earn with this offer?

The actual amount of bonus Velocity points earned in this promo depends on your bank or hotel rewards program, and the number of points transferred.

When transferring points from Amex Membership Rewards, NAB Rewards, Westpac Altitude, Citi Rewards, HSBC Rewards Plus, Diners Club Rewards, Suncorp Bank Rewards, Bank of Queensland or Card Services, you’ll earn bonus Velocity points at the following rates:

  • Transfer up to 250,000 Velocity points to earn 15% bonus points
  • Transfer 250,001-500,000 Velocity points in one transaction to earn 20% bonus points
  • Transfer at least 500,001 Velocity points in one transaction to earn 25% bonus points

Transfers from CommBank Awards to Velocity will earn a flat 25% bonus, regardless of the transaction amount. This is a rare good offer for CommBank Awards customers!

Transfers from the following hotel loyalty programs will earn 20% bonus Velocity points: Marriott Bonvoy, IHG Rewards Club, Hilton Honors, Accor Le Club and Shangri-La Golden Circle.

Transfers from ANZ Rewards or ANZ Business Rewards come with a very generous 50% bonus, which is the highlight of this promotion. This is comprised of a 20% bonus from Velocity and an additional 30% points boost from ANZ.

Transferring points to Velocity from Flybuys will attract 15% bonus Velocity points. Unfortunately, the annual transfer limit of 138,000 Flybuys points is not being lifted for this promotion.
