Scoot’s new flights to Berlin are now on sale, and the low-cost carrier is offering some seriously low launch fares from Australia! Right now, you can book a flight from Perth to Berlin from $319 one-way. It often costs more than this to fly from Perth to another destination within Western Australia!

Cheap airfares to the German capital are also available from the Gold Coast for $389, and from Sydney or Melbourne for $399 one-way. Return fares are double this price.

ScootBiz fares are available for $1,099 one-way departing Perth. Sydney-Berlin in ScootBiz costs $1,199.

These launch fares are available until 31 January 2018, for travel between 20 June and 26 October 2018. All flights operate via Singapore. Beware that some – but not all – connections require a long layover in Singapore.

These airfares are seriously low. But what’s the catch? Well, as Scoot is a low-cost airline, these prices include only your seat. You’ll need to pay extra for bags, food, seat selection and so on. You’ll also be spending around 24 hours each way in a Scoot Economy seat. These are not the world’s most comfortable aircraft seats, and there is no seat-back entertainment on Scoot flights.

If you need a checked bag, this will add an extra $102 each way to the cost of your flights. Meals cost another $67 each way on top of that. And basic seat selection will cost around $28. There’s also a $20 credit fee. So, even just with these basic inclusions, that $319 fare from Perth to Berlin will cost you at least $536 one-way. For a return ticket, you’re looking at $1,072.

If you are thinking about booking a Scoot flight to Berlin, use the promo code GOBERLIN to get a 10% discount on fares with included baggage and meals until 31 January.

With flights to Berlin from $319, there’s no doubt that these are cheap airfares. But once you add on extras like baggage and meals, these fares are not much cheaper than flying a full-service airline. For example, Philippine Airlines currently has fares from Australia to London for $1,074 return. Even Qantas recently had a sale fare to London for under $1,300 return.

China Airlines also currently has Premium Economy fares to Europe for as little as $1,523 return.
