10,000 Easy Qantas Points with a Debit Card

10,000 Easy Points with a Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account
Earn enough Qantas points for a domestic flight by opening a free bank account

There’s currently an easy 10,000 Qantas points up for grabs, thanks to a new Bankwest promotion.

Earn 10,000 Qantas points by signing up for a free Bankwest Qantas transaction account. You’d just need to make 10 purchases of $2 or more within the first two months of opening the bank account. This account comes with a debit card (not a credit card), so no credit check is required.

To earn the bonus Qantas points, you would need to open a new Bankwest Qantas transaction account by 31 August 2018. This offer is not available if you have ever previously held a Bankwest Qantas Transaction Account, or if you held any other type of Bankwest transaction account in the last 30 days. The bonus Qantas points will credit within 60 days of you meeting the eligibility criteria.

The Bankwest Qantas Transaction account is very popular with our members. Although the interest rate is very low, Qantas points are earned on the account balance. You’ll earn 12 Qantas points per month for every $100 in the account. You’ll also earn 5 Qantas points with every purchase, regardless of the amount, up to 50 transactions per day. This makes the Bankwest Qantas debit card a great earner on smaller purchases like your morning cup of coffee.

There is a monthly account fee of $6, but this is waived if you deposit at least $2,000 each month. You can withdraw and re-deposit this amount each month to avoid paying any fees.

To open a Bankwest Qantas Transaction account you’ll need to be over 18 and have an Australian residential address. You’ll be required to show photo ID at a Bankwest branch or post office.

With 10,000 easy Qantas points available for potentially no cost, this is a great deal! There are often generous sign-up bonus points available on credit cards, but rarely on debit cards.

10,000 Qantas points is enough for a Classic Reward flight in Economy on any flight with Qantas or a partner airline of up to 600 miles. Some examples include Sydney-Melbourne on Qantas, Los Angeles-San Francisco on American Airlines or even London-Berlin with British Airways. 10,000 Qantas points will even cover an upgrade from a cheap Economy ticket to Business class on shorter Qantas domestic flights.

Bankwest previously ran a similar promotion in 2014.
