Thinking about booking a trip to the USA? With fares at record lows, and double Qantas status credits still on, there has never been a better time to book!

Qantas currently has Economy class fares available from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to Los Angeles for as low as $719 return on the Qantas website! (There are also slightly cheaper prices available via various online travel agents.)

These cheap airfares to the United States are not being advertised by Qantas. But if you search for flights on the Qantas website, and there is availability on your travel dates, the cheap fares will appear.

These prices are available on many dates from March until November 2020, excluding school holidays. For example, you can fly Qantas from Melbourne to Los Angeles in November for just $719 return in Economy:

With this Melbourne-Los Angeles itinerary, you would normally earn at least 9,000 Qantas points and 90 status credits. But by booking this during the current double status credits promotion, which ends today, you would earn 180 status credits. For a $719 round-trip fare, that works out to be just under $4 per status credit.

Note that as these are Economy Sale fares, it is not possible to upgrade using Qantas points.

Qantas flights to San Francisco are also heavily discounted at present. You can fly direct from Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane to San Francisco for the same price – starting at just $719 return!

It’s also possible to book an open-jaw ticket, for example, flying into San Francisco and returning to Australia from Los Angeles…

The above itinerary from Brisbane-San Francisco, returning Los Angeles-Melbourne-Brisbane, would earn 210 status credits during the current double status credits promotion.

If you’d prefer to fly with a different airline, Qantas isn’t the only carrier that’s currently heavily discounting airfares to the USA! United Airlines is also offering some stellar fares on its website from Sydney and Melbourne to Los Angeles and San Francisco…
