Greater Benefits for Qantas Business Rewards Members

Qantas has made it easier for businesses to achieve a higher level in its Qantas Business Rewards program, while also increasing the benefits offered with each tier. Changes include larger discounts on flights and Qantas Club membership, as well as a new Gold Accelerator offer.

Qantas Frequent Flyer members who book through Qantas Business Rewards and earn points for their business will also now earn a “Flyer Bonus” of 250 Qantas points per booking for themselves. This is in addition to the usual Qantas points earned by the flyer, and the Qantas Business Rewards points earned by the business.

Lower thresholds for achieving a higher level

With the Qantas Business Rewards program, businesses and can earn points by spending with program partners and whenever an employee flies with Qantas. These points can be redeemed like regular Qantas points for business travel, or transferred at a 1:1 rate to any nominated person’s Qantas Frequent Flyer account. (A minimum of 3,000 points are required per transfer.)

This aspect of the Qantas Business Rewards program is not changing. But within the loyalty program for small-to-medium businesses, there are also three status “levels”. The higher levels, as you would expect, come with greater benefits.

Qantas Business Rewards members can reach a higher level by earning a certain number of points each year from flights taken by people travelling for the business. These thresholds have just been reduced:

• Level 1 is the base tier
• Level 2 now requires at least 15,000 Qantas points earned from flying each year (previously 20,000 points)
• Level 3 now requires at least 80,000 Qantas points earned from flying each year (previously 100,000 points)

Qantas Business Rewards points can be earned when people travelling for the business book an eligible Qantas domestic or international flight with a “QF” flight number on the ticket. The ticket must be purchased in Australia on Qantas ticket stock.

Businesses earn a percentage of the points earned by the flyer, with Level 1 businesses earning 20%, Level 2 earning 30%, and Level 3 earning at a 40% rate.

Improved benefits at each level

Upon reaching Level 2 or 3, Qantas Business Rewards members can now get 30% off Qantas Club membership (previously 20% for all members). The 20% Qantas Club discount is still available for Level 1 members.

Level 3 members can also nominate one traveller for a fast-track to Qantas Gold status each year through the Gold Tier Accelerator offer.

Increased flight discounts

There have also been some improvements to the flight discounts available to members at each tier level.
