Priceline Sister Club Loyalty Program Guide

With more than 7 million members, Priceline Sister Club is the fifth-largest loyalty program in Australia. The rewards program of Priceline Pharmacy, Sister Club rewards its members with quarterly vouchers for earning points at Priceline and bonuses upon reaching Diamond or Pink Diamond membership.

You’ll earn 1 Sister Club point per $1 spent at Priceline Stores. This excludes purchases of gift vouchers and scheduled medicines (defined as pharmacy medicine, pharmacist only medicine and prescription medication). Priceline may also offer double Sister Club points on selected products or in targeted offers to members.

Priceline Quarterly Rewards

If you earn at least 100 Sister Club points during a 3-month quarter (e.g. January-March), you’ll automatically be sent a “payback voucher” in the mail. This voucher will be worth 3% (if you’ve earned 100-199 points) or 4% (if you’ve earned at least 200 points) of your total purchases for the previous quarter.

If you don’t earn enough points during the quarter to receive a voucher in the mail, the balance will roll over to the next quarter.

Sister Club quarterly rewards can only be redeemed in one transaction. If you spend more than the reward amount, you’ll need to pay the difference. If you spend less, the remaining voucher amount will be forfeited.

Sister Club points are not earned on transactions paid in part or full using a quarterly reward. You also cannot redeem quarterly rewards for purchases that don’t normally earn points, i.e. scheduled medicines and gift cards. Rewards expire after 3 months.

The quarterly rewards system seems to have been designed with high breakage in mind and, in our view, could be more customer-friendly.

Sister Club Membership Levels

Priceline Sister Club also has status tiers. There are three membership levels: Sister Club (base level), Diamond and Pink Diamond.

Priceline Diamond membership is reached if you earn between 150 and 399 Sister Club points per quarter. Diamond membership benefits are:

  • Get $10 off a purchase of at least $60 after receiving a Beauty Advisor Consultation
  • Receive discounts on selected health & beauty products

Priceline Pink Diamond membership is achieved by earning at least 400 Sister Club points per quarter. In addition to the Diamond benefits, Pink Diamond members can receive a free Gift Box each quarter containing 3-4 sample-sized products. Gift boxes are available to pick up in-store during a designated period at the start of each quarter.

These benefits aren’t anything particularly special, and it probably isn’t worth going out of your way to spend more at Priceline to reach a higher membership level.

Other Sister Club Benefits

Priceline Sister Club members receive a $5 “birthday reward” by email each year, which is valid for 28 days from the member’s birthday.

Priceline also promises exclusive vouchers, competition entries and double points days.

Is Sister Club Worth Joining?

It’s free to join the Sister Club program so if you regularly shop at Priceline anyway, you might as well join. The main catch is that you’re consenting to receive marketing mail from Priceline, and Priceline will collect data about your purchases which it uses to market products to you. (Most other loyalty programs do this as well.)

The rewards on offer are not particularly special and the benefits of Diamond and Pink Diamond membership appear marginal, but a 3% rebate on purchases is better than the 0.5% rebate effectively offered by the Woolworths Rewards and Flybuys loyalty programs.

As an alternative to Priceline Sister Club, you can earn 2 Qantas points per dollar spent at TerryWhite Chemmart by joining TerryWhite Chemmart REWARDS and linking your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

Competitor Amcal has an Amcal Rewards program, where members can get $5 off their shop after spending $500 at Amcal pharmacies. Meanwhile, Soul Pattinson Chemist offers a more generous $10 off your shop after spending $200 through its Soul Pattinson “soul +rewards” loyalty program.
