Bunnings Warehouse and Officeworks have officially joined the Flybuys loyalty program, allowing you to earn and redeem Flybuys points at both retailers.

From 1 December 2021, you can now earn 1 Flybuys point for every dollar spent at both Bunnings and Officeworks. That’s in addition to all the other ways to earn Flybuys points, including shopping at Coles, Liquorland, Kmart, Target and Catch.

“We know that a vast majority of Flybuys members already shop at both retailers, which is an incredibly exciting opportunity for our eight million+ members to collect more points where they’re already shopping,” Flybuys CEO John Merakovsky said.

Wesfarmers Managing Director Rob Scott said that the introduction of Bunnings and Officeworks into the Flybuys program would “complement the development of Wesfarmers’ data and digital ecosystem, providing insights that enable our businesses to offer more relevant, personalised customer experiences.”

Reading between the lines, this could also mean that Bunnings and Officeworks customers could eventually receive lucrative, personalised Flybuys offers similar to those currently offered by retailers like Coles.

Earning Flybuys points at Bunnings

To earn points at Bunnings, you can scan your Flybuys card in-store at the checkout. It is not yet possible to earn points with Bunnings when shopping online, but the ability to add your Flybuys number on the Bunnings website will be added soon.

Flybuys points can’t be earned when making a Bunnings purchase using a PowerPass credit, cash or account. PowerPass customers can choose to continue receiving PowerPass benefits or collect Flybuys points instead.

It’s also not possible to earn Flybuys points on gift card purchases, donations, services, special orders or delivery charges at Bunnings Warehouse. As purchases from the famous Bunnings “sausage sizzle” are considered donations, Bunnings has specifically mentioned on its website that Flybuys points unfortunately can’t be earned or redeemed at the sausage sizzle!

Earning Flybuys points at Officeworks

Similarly, the earn rate at Officeworks is 1 point per $1 spent but there are exclusions. Flybuys points can’t be earned on gift cards, Print & Copy cards, iTunes cards, mobile plans & recharge cards, donations, services or delivery charges at Officeworks.

Officeworks business customers with an Officeworks account that has a linked ABN are not eligible to earn points.

Redeeming Flybuys points

Flybuys points can be redeemed for savings at Coles or at the Flybuys Rewards Store. Following the launch of these new partnerships, you can also now redeem Flybuys points for Bunnings and Officeworks gift cards at the Rewards Store.

When redeeming Flybuys points, 2,000 points are always worth $10.

Alternatively, you can convert your Flybuys points to Velocity Frequent Flyer points at a rate of 1,000 Flybuys points = 500 Velocity points.
