What are your air travel micro-hacks?

On a quick return trip to Britain and Netherlands with SQ, this year even with loosened laces on my shoes my feet and lower leg circulation caused me a lot of discomfort.

Coming back I used my very comfy’ Crosby slippers. Soft fabric uppers and rubber soles (easily cleaned). No problems. Slip them on before boarding. So my hack is a comfy’ pair of slippers.

I could walk normally in them as I find thongs or hotel slip ons without heels not as easy. Not that it matters so much in the confines of an aircraft.

As mentioned above am not worried about aircraft lavatory/toilet floors which are probably cleaned more frequently than so many areas both outdoors and indoors that we take for granted.

I have found that not trying to bring a machete onboard, and then not trying to use the plastic butter-knives to hack off the feet of the people putting them on the bulkheads, has resulted in a lot of not-confrontational air travel.

Leave that for the airline-branded machetes that the flight crew carry.

Not sure if this counts : Before getting to security screening, I empty the contents of my pockets into my hand luggage.

I avoid the extra step of dumping all my stuff into a tray (and holding up people behind me).

I also only have to keep my eye on one thing (my HL) rather than two (my HL and the tray).

Said contents are easily retrieved while in the lounge.
👍 I do this too.
