CommBank Awards members can earn a 20-50% bonus when transferring points to an eligible partner airline or hotel loyalty program until 30 June 2024.

It’s rare for CommBank Awards to provide a bonus when transferring points to so many different partner programs. So, if you’re sitting on a stack of points that you want to transfer to an airline or hotel program, now is a good opportunity.

Participating programs

During the promotional period, you can get 50% extra points when transferring CommBank Awards points to the following hotel loyalty programs:

  • Accor Live Limitless
  • IHG One Rewards
  • Marriott Bonvoy
  • Wyndham Rewards

Additionally, earn 20% bonus points when converting CommBank Awards points by 30 June 2024 to these airline programs:

  • Cathay
  • Etihad Guest
  • Qatar Airways Privilege Club
  • United MileagePlus

The transfer bonus does not apply when transferring CommBank Awards points to Singapore Airlines, Air Canada, EVA Air, Air France/KLM, Virgin Australia, Emirates or airasia.

See our overview of CommBank Awards transfer partners for a full list of transfer rates.

Offer T&Cs

According to the offer terms & conditions, the bonus points will post as a separate transaction at the same time that the regular points arrive.

Additionally, the maximum amount of bonus Marriott Bonvoy points you can earn through this promotion is 500,000. CommBank Awards points transfer to Marriott Bonvoy at a 3:1 rate, so the maximum CommBank Awards points you could convert to Marriott Bonvoy while earning the 50% bonus is 3 million.

Marriott Bonvoy points can be transferred onwards to around 40 different airline programs. So this could be an interesting, indirect way to convert CommBank Awards points into points with almost any airline of your choice.

You can, but need to sign up for auto transfer and pay extra annual fee.

I actually think Accor could be good value here as it results in a value of 0.0493 cents per point.

Unusual given that CBA Awards are one of several banks in the middle of the twice annual VFF transfer bonus. I transferred my batch to VFF in May and again in June to receive that batch therefore have none left to consider for this promotion.

Yes automatic but no instant. The transfer took a day or two but when it did the bonus points landed.
