Looking for cheap flights to South America? Qantas currently has some very good fares available to Santiago, Lima, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo from $995 return. There are also some exceptional deals available to South America in Premium Economy from $1,895 return.

Qantas Economy sale to South America

Qantas flights from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to Santiago are now available from $995 return (e.g. from Melbourne). Flights from Adelaide start at $1,095 return. Sale fares from Australia to Peru or Brazil are also available from $1096 return. The sale fares are available for travel during August, October and November 2019, and March next year.

All Qantas airfares include meals, drinks, checked baggage and in-flight entertainment. However, Economy Sale tickets do not come with complimentary seat selection (unless you have Qantas or Oneworld status) and cannot be upgraded using Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

When flying with Qantas to South America, you’ll fly with Qantas from Sydney to Santiago on QF27. From Santiago Airport, you can connect onwards to destinations across South America on LATAM Airlines.

Qantas Premium Economy sale to South America

Cheap flights to South America are also available in Premium Economy, with fares to Santiago starting at $1,895 return. That’s an excellent deal for a very good Qantas product. Premium Economy flights to Lima, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo are on sale from $2,096 return.

If you’re booking a Premium Economy sale fare, any Qantas domestic connections will book into an Economy Flex fare class (as there is no Premium Economy cabin on domestic flights). Domestic Flex fares can be upgraded to Business class for just half the usual number of Qantas points (i.e. 5,000 points from Brisbane or Melbourne to Sydney).

It is possible to book connecting LATAM Airlines flights within South America into Premium Economy, but this cabin is only offered on some LATAM aircraft. So, choose your flights carefully if you’re booking a Premium Economy ticket.

Business class sale fares to South America are also available. In addition, Qantas flights to Johannesburg, South Africa are on sale now from $1,098 return in Economy. The current Qantas sale ends on 11 June 2019.
