I think this is incredible value. A rare and nice thing from Qantas :)

For example, you can fly from BNE to SCL return for $1900, with the BNE-SYD leg classed as flex-Y, and the main long haul as discount PE. This is a LONG trip, their PE product is really good for this, and for that price it is great value. Add to that (as a WP) you would earn over 32,000 points. I value these points conservatively as about $400, so really the cost to travel in a decent level of comfort at only $1400 return. This is mindboggling compared to historical (and many current) fares.

It's also only ~$200 more (round-trip) to continue to LIM/GIG/GRU in Premium Economy. There are only a few LATAM flights between SCL and those cities where PE is actually offered (it's dependant on the aircraft type), so you need to be a bit clever with how it's booked. But if you can get it, it's excellent value.

Agree with the value, but I don't look past SCL these days :)

For anyone else, be aware that Latam's PE is on their narrow-body planes, and consists of simply blocking the centre seats to turn a real 3-3 across row into a 2-2 arrangement, and increasing seat pitch a tad.. (That is why they do not offer it trans-pacific as they use widebody 787's for that that only have Y and J)

But they do offer heaps better soft-product service in that PE cabin than in economy.
