Thinking about a holiday in Vietnam? Jetstar currently has some great value Business Class fares on sale from Sydney or Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City from just $599 one-way!

Meanwhile, round-trip Business fares from Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City are available from just $1,153:

Return fares from Sydney are selling from $1,161.

Cheap one-way fares from Vietnam to Australia are also available for around $570 in Jetstar Business Class. You can book on the Jetstar website.

Although Jetstar Business Class is not equivalent to Business on a full-service airline, it’s still unbeatable value at these prices.

Jetstar flies Boeing 787-8s from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flights between Melbourne and Ho Chi Minh City run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

We’ve found Jetstar Business Class flights available at these prices on many different dates throughout the next year. These prices aren’t available on all flights, and fares might be higher around peak periods. But on some flights, there are as many as 8 Business Class seats available at these low prices.

These Jetstar prices are significantly cheaper than VietJet Air’s Business Class. In fact, they aren’t that much more expensive than Vietnam Airlines Economy Class!

Book Business Max to earn Qantas points & status credits

The cheapest Jetstar Business Class tickets from Australia to Vietnam include 14kg of carry-on baggage, 30kg of checked baggage, a Business Class seat and the full Business Class service on board.

For an extra $220 per flight, you can choose to add on a Business Max bundle. This comes with some additional benefits including lounge access in Sydney or Melbourne and the option to cancel your ticket for a fee. Crucially, for Qantas frequent flyers, the Business Max fare also lets you earn Qantas points and status credits at the Business Class rate!

With a return Jetstar Business Max flight from Sydney or Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City, you could earn at least 15,600 Qantas points and 240 status credits. That’s 80% of the status credits you would need to earn Qantas Silver status.

Use this fare to position to Asia

If you want to fly Business Class to Europe, but your budget (or frequent flyer points) don’t quite stretch far enough, you could use a cheap Jetstar ticket as a positioning flight to get yourself to Asia – as I often do.

From Ho Chi Minh City, Business Class fares to Europe are much cheaper than they are from Australia. It’s also easier to find frequent flyer reward seats from Asia to Europe than it is from Australia, and you’ll need to spend fewer points.

As an added bonus, you’ll get to enjoy a stopover in Vietnam!

Just note that Australian citizens need a visa to enter Vietnam. You can apply for a Vietnamese visa online, but it can take a little while to process.

What you get in Jetstar Business Class

The first thing to know about Jetstar Business Class is that you won’t get a fully-flat bed. The seat itself is a wide leather recliner seat which is equivalent to Premium Economy on other airlines.

Jetstar has three rows of Business Class seats on its Boeing 787s in a 2-3-2 layout.

If you’re looking for a luxurious Business Class experience with a private suite or a flat bed, Jetstar is not the airline for you. That said, Jetstar does provide a full meal and drinks service in Business Class, including complimentary alcoholic beverages and snacks.

Jetstar also provides blankets, comfort kits and premium headphones in Business Class, you get included in-flight entertainment, and the cabin staff are usually very attentive. So, as a whole, it’s a pretty good product – especially for daytime flights like the outbound journey from Australia to Vietnam.

The major downside is really the lack of a lie-flat bed on the overnight return service from Ho Chi Minh City back to Sydney or Melbourne. But at the prices Jetstar is charging, the low-cost carrier’s Business Class is still pretty competitive!

Note that despite there being a number of third party lounges at HCM, Jetstar haven't negotiated access, so the Max fare on the return doesn't give you lounge access.

Thanks to Vietjet for all the competition, pricing has really come down to Vietnam.

I have flown Jetstar business class from Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City on the 787 twice...first time I bid for an upgrade (~$250) from a $180 Economy fare and the 2nd time I booked outright with QF points....it leaves in the afternoon so you can have a nice lunch in the QF F lounge (if you are Plat) prior ; Food, drink, service onboard and seat that reclines to about 45 degrees makes this a very comfortable 9 hour daytime flight to Sgn 🙂 Would recommend anytime!

Came back to Syd on Sq via Sin, once in J and once in Y

From late 2025:

Oh interesting, they went with the retrofitted crew rest option rather than the “lie flats in business class” option 😭
