Dreaming of a visit to the land of the long white cloud? Cheap flights to New Zealand are on sale now, with tickets to Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington starting at just $185 return. Flights to Queenstown are also on sale. These fares are available departing from Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
These cheap flights are with Jetstar, so they don’t include luggage or meals. You can add 20kg of luggage for $28 per flight ($56 round-trip). Alternatively, purchase a Plus Bundle for $57 extra per flight ($114 round-trip) to receive 20kg checked baggage, food, seat selection and Qantas points & status credits.

- Melbourne to Christchurch from $125 one-way or $184.20 return
- Gold Coast to Christchurch from $125 one-way or $188.05 return

Be sure to add a Bundle if you want to earn Qantas points and status credits. For $114 extra per round-trip, the Plus Bundle includes 50 Qantas status credits and 2,750 Qantas points. Or earn 80 Qantas status credits with a Max Bundle, which costs an extra $240 round-trip.
These cheap flights to New Zealand cost barely more than the government and airport taxes. For example, the actual airfare on a return sale flight from Melbourne to Christchurch is just $19.42! (Taxes make up the rest of the price.) The flight is so cheap, in fact, that on some routes you’d pay more just in taxes and carrier charges on a Classic Flight Reward booking made with Qantas points! A return Jetstar reward flight from Melbourne to Christchurch costs 28,800 Qantas points and $190.45 in extra charges – although you would get 20kg of included baggage with the reward booking.
