15% Bonus on Flybuys Transfers to Velocity

15% Bonus on Flybuys Transfers to VelocityVirgin Australia is once again offering a 15% bonus on Flybuys transfers to Velocity Frequent Flyer this month.

You’ll earn a 15% bonus on Flybuys points transferred to Virgin’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program until 22 February 2018. This means that you’ll receive 1,000 Velocity points – up from the usual 870 Velocity points – for every 2,000 Flybuys points transferred. A maximum of 138,000 Flybuys points can be transferred to Velocity per calendar year.

But wait, it gets even better… some AFF members have even received emails offering an 18% bonus on Flybuys transfers to Velocity. This is the highest Flybuys transfer bonus we’ve seen, but these offers do appear to be targeted.

The 15% bonus points offer is also available for a limited time to Amex cardholders. A 15% bonus will be given on transfers from Amex Membership Rewards to Velocity Frequent Flyer until 14 February 2018.

Flybuys points are earned for shopping at Coles. They can be redeemed for merchandise or Coles vouchers. But the best use of Flybuys points is generally to transfer them to a frequent flyer program. Flybuys points can be converted to Virgin Australia Velocity points. Until recently they could also be transferred to the Etihad Guest frequent flyer program. But Flybuys suspended Etihad transfers two months ago without notice. It’s not yet known when Etihad transfers will be reinstated.

The last bonus Velocity points promo was in November last year. Based on past trends, we expect the next bonus points promo will come around in May. So, transfer your points across from Flybuys now if you plan to book or upgrade a flight with Velocity points in the next 3 months!
