The trick is to sign up for a CrownBet Rewards account. CrownBet Rewards is currently offering 5,000 bonus points to all new members. These points can then be transferred to Virgin Australia’s Velcoity Frequent Flyer program at a rate of 2:1. So, those 5,000 free CrownBet Rewards points can be converted into 2,500 free Velocity points.
The process is relatively simple. Once you’ve signed up for a free CrownBet Rewards account, the 5,000 bonus points will be deposited into your account within around five minutes. You can then transfer the points to your Velocity account immediately.
Points appeared within 5-10 minutes and could be redeemed immediately (min 100). Didn’t see anywhere to link membership in account settings, just a field to enter the Velocity number when redeeming.
Once transferred, the points will generally arrive in the nominated Velocity Frequent Flyer account the following day.

It is not necessary to sign up for a betting account in order to receive the 5,000 bonus points, although the option is offered during the sign-up process. If you just sign up for a regular account (which does not involve an ID check), you will still earn the points.
You do not have to sign up for the wagering account offered during the joining process.
