Airfare of the Week: Turkmenistan Airlines Business Class Kuala Lumpur – London from $1,027 One-Way

Our newest Airfare of the Week belongs to Turkmenistan Airlines, which has one-way Business Class fares from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to London-Gatwick (LGW) from $1,027. Thanks to @Mattg for spotting the initial sale fare a few months ago.

While this is a great fare for Business Class from Asia to Europe, it does come with some quirks.

Travel dates & fare rules

There is not a lot of detail on the flight rules for this airfare. But upon investigating, it seems to be available for travel between 28 October 2026 and 28 March 2027.

The booking page doesn’t indicate any information about change fees or cancellation – the fare rules box in the airline’s own booking engine is simply empty.

The entirety of Turkmenistan Airlines’ refund and change policy on their English-language website is three sentences. For Business Class tickets, “both changes and refunds are permitted according to the fare rules”, which are a bit hard to find online. As such, we’d probably treat this as a non-refundable fare.

On-board product

Turkmenistan Airlines flies its Boeing 777-200LR on both its flights to Kuala Lumpur and London-Gatwick. The aircraft has 28 Business Class seats in a 2-3-2 layout. The seats are not lie-flat, but according to Aerolopa.com offer 177 degree recline (angled flat bed).

Flights from Bangkok to Ashgabat are operated on its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which were acquired from Cathay Pacific. These continue to retain Cathay Pacific’s reverse herringbone 1-2-1 layout and is much more comfortable. But, beware of last minute swaps!

Also note that Turkmenistan Airlines is a dry airline – there is no alcohol on board in any cabin. On the plus side, Business Class includes 46kg of checked baggage allowance and lounge access in Ashgabat.

Earning points & status credits with this airfare

You cannot earn any points or status credits on this airfare. Turkmenistan Airlines doesn’t belong to any of the major alliances or have frequent flyer partnerships with any other program. In fact, it doesn’t even have a frequent flyer program.
