5 Free Ways to Earn Velocity Points

From flying to credit cards, Flybuys to the Velocity eStore shopping portal, there are lots of ways to earn Velocity Frequent Flyer points in Australia. Once earned, you can then redeem your Velocity Points for flights with Virgin Australia and its partner airlines, upgrades, and more.
Velocity Points don’t expire as long as you keep your account active at least once every 24 months. That means you just need to earn or redeem at least one point every two years. If you’re in Australia, one of the easiest ways to do this is to buy something (even just a coffee) from 7-Eleven.
Plus, there are several ways to earn Velocity Points without spending a cent. These methods could also be useful if you’re just a little bit short of a redemption, and don’t want to buy Velocity Points or complete a family points transfer to make up the difference…

Velocity Points on everyday purchases
Link your Velocity and DiDi accounts
You can gain an easy 1,000 Velocity Points just by linking your Velocity account with DiDi, a ride-share service.
If you’re a Virgin Australia Business Flyer member, your business can also earn an extra 1,000 points by linking with DiDi. So, you can get up to 2,000 free points in total.
Link your Velocity account to me&u
One way to earn Velocity Points for free is to link your account with me&u, a platform that provides QR code ordering at lots of pubs and restaurants around Australia. You’ll earn 100 free Velocity Points for simply linking your account on this page of the me&u website.
If you order using me&u at a venue, you’ll also earn a Velocity Point for every $5 spent.
Complete a survey
Just like you can earn Qantas Points for free by completing Red Planet surveys, Velocity partners with a survey company called e-Rewards.
By signing up to e-Rewards through Velocity and completing your first survey within 90 days, you’ll earn 750 bonus Velocity Points for free. You’ll also earn e-Rewards “Opinion Points” on future surveys, which you can convert to Velocity Points at a rate of 2,000 Opinion Points = 500 Velocity Points.
Recycle with Envirobank
Rather than returning them to your local supermarket, you can take empty bottles with a “10c refund” symbol to an Envirobank recycling depot to earn “Crunch Credits”. You’ll earn 15 Crunch Credits per bottle returned, which transfer to 5 Velocity Points.
Admittedly, this means you’re effectively sacrificing 10 cents for every 5 Velocity Points earned – giving an acquisition cost of 2 cents per point. This is slightly higher than AFF considers a Velocity Point to be worth.
Join Velocity via 7-Eleven

If you’re not already a Velocity Frequent Flyer member, you’ll earn 500 bonus Velocity Points if you sign up through the link on the 7-Eleven website.
And if you are already a Velocity member, you’ll get 250 bonus Velocity Points by linking your Velocity membership in the My 7-Eleven app and scanning your card in store (in conjunction with a purchase) for the first time.
