Sign-up bonus
Apply for a NAB Rewards Signature Card with Velocity to earn up to 80,000 bonus Velocity Points! That’s equal to 160,000 NAB Rewards Points!¹
To give you an idea of the value of those points, it would cost you 62,000 Velocity points (plus taxes and carrier charges) for two return Virgin Australia Business Class flights from Melbourne to Sydney.

The bonus points are allocated over two years. You’ll receive 60,000 bonus points (converted from 120,000 NAB Rewards Bonus points) when you spend $5,000 on eligible purchases within 90 days of opening your account. You’ll get an additional 20,000 bonus points (converted from 40,000 NAB Rewards Bonus points) when renewing your card for a second year.
This offer does not have a fixed expiry date but may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
Bonus points are not available to customers who currently hold, or have held, any personal NAB Rewards Credit Card in the last 24 months or in conjunction with any other offer.

Since 12 June 2024, this card has no international transaction fees. Enjoy fee-free foreign currency transactions when travelling overseas or shopping online!
Delayed flight lounge pass
As a NAB Rewards Signature Card with Velocity cardholder, you can get complimentary access to selected LoungeKey airport lounges for yourself and up to four eligible travel companions if your flight is delayed by an hour or more. If no lounges are available, you can also use your Delayed Flight Lounge Pass to offset the bill at selected airport dining outlets.³

Earning points
With the NAB Rewards Signature Card with Velocity, you’ll earn 0.75 Velocity Points (converted from 1.5 NAB Rewards Points) per dollar on the first $15,000 spent on eligible transactions (excluding government payments and gambling transactions) each month. Additional monthly spend earns at a rate of 0.25 Velocity Points (converted from 0.5 NAB Rewards Points) per $1.
Plus, earn double points with Webjet.
Earning points for ATO & government payments
This card does not give points for payments made directly to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) or other government bodies.
However, you can use a payment service such as pay.com.au to pay tax and other bills with this card and still earn points at the full rate!
If you’d like a credit card that earns points on ATO payments, you could also consider a NAB business credit card.
Using Velocity Points
There are many ways to redeem Virgin Australia Velocity Points, both in the air and on the ground.
If you don’t want to use your points for flights, Velocity Points can be redeemed for wine, hotels, car hire bookings and products or gift cards from the Velocity Rewards Store.
But you’ll generally get the best value for your Velocity Points by redeeming for UpgradeMe Points upgrades or reward seats on Virgin Australia.
You can also get good value for your points by booking reward seats on many of Virgin Australia’s partner airlines. These include Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, United Airlines, Etihad Airways, and Air Canada.

You can check the number of Velocity Points you’d need to book a reward seat on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website.
It’s also possible to convert Velocity Frequent Flyer Points into Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles! You’d just need to transfer at least 5,000 Velocity Points at a time, and the conversion rate is 1.55 Velocity Points = 1 KrisFlyer mile.

Note that taxes & carrier charges are payable in addition to the points on reward seats. The availability of reward seats may also be limited, particularly in Business Class on popular international routes and during peak travel periods.
See our Overview of Velocity Frequent Flyer Redemptions for more information.

The monthly fee will be charged on the last day of your statement period each month. If you spend $5,000 or more in a statement period, your monthly fee for that statement period will be reversed. Spend includes all purchases and cash advances less any refunds or cash advance reversals. Some pending transactions may take up to 10 business days to process to your account and only transactions that are processed in that statement period will count towards the spend requirement.
After 12 months, any unpaid balance transfers will attract the variable cash advance rate (currently 21.74% p.a. as at today). The one-off balance transfer fee of 3% is calculated on the amount transferred and is charged to your NAB credit card account when your balance transfer is processed. Interest rates are subject to change. While you have an outstanding balance transfer, interest free days on purchases only applies if you pay the interest free days payment in full by the due date each month. Minimum monthly repayments must be made by the due date each month. Standard balance transfer rate and term may be varied or withdrawn at any time. In addition to this acquisition rate, which is available only at card application, other balance transfer offers may be available on your card from time to time. You can find out more information about the ongoing balance transfer rates of your card.
Cash advances also include other transactions we consider to be the equivalent of withdrawing cash from your account. These include most gambling transactions (such as sports betting, casino games, lottery tickets, online gambling), the purchase of travellers cheques, wire transfers or other similar substitutes for cash (such as crypto-currency).
If you don’t want to allow gambling transactions (including cash advances and cash transfers) on your card, you can disable them in the NAB app.
