Cashrewards Suddenly Closes Down

One of Australia’s original cashback shopping websites, Cashrewards, has suddenly closed down.

The company announced its closure at midday on Monday with no prior warning, and without giving an explanation. It had been backed in recent years by ANZ, which also announced large job cuts on Monday.

Cashrewards has emailed its customers and posted a notice on its website to inform them of the closure.

How to withdraw your funds from Cashrewards

If you’re a past Cashrewards customer and you have funds sitting in an account, the good news is that you can still withdraw your cashback money.

You can manually withdraw your funds on the Cashrewards website until Friday, 24 October 2025. After this time, Cashrewards will automatically transfer any unclaimed funds to your bank or PayPal account if you have linked one to your Cashrewards account.

If you don’t have a linked bank or PayPal account and don’t withdraw your funds by 24 October 2025, you’ll only be able to do this by submitting a manual request to withdraw the money to your bank account until Friday, 12 December 2025.

Cashrewards will approve all pending transactions on Thursday, 11 September 2025. That way, you’ll be able to withdraw all the money you may be owed before the deadline.

This announcement came so out of the blue that Cashrewards was still emailing members with new offers as recently as last Saturday.

Alternatives to Cashrewards

If you were a regular Cashrewards user, there are a few alternative platforms in Australia that offer a similar service. Two of the main ones that have been recommended on the AFF forum are Topcashback and Shopback.
