Our members have discovered an ingenious way to earn 20,000 Amex Membership Rewards points for as little as $35! These points can be transferred at a 1:1 rate to numerous frequent flyer programs, including Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Emirates.

American Express is currently offering 20,000 bonus points when taking out an Amex Ezicover life insurance policy. You’ll also receive the first month of the policy for free.

The offer is open to most American Express cardholders aged between 19 and 69. To receive the 20,000 bonus points, you would need to apply by 31 July 2017. The bonus points will be awarded after the first premium is paid. Be aware that the offer terms & conditions clearly state you’ll need to hold the insurance for at least 6 months to keep the points.

With premiums as low as $6 per month for some Amex cardholders, this is a pretty good deal!

20,000 pt bonus for new life policies. Pts credited up to 8 weeks after the first premium is paid although they told me generally it will credit within a week. First month premium is waived. They reserve the right to reverse the bonus pts if you cancel within 6 months. Ive gone and taken out the minimum cover possible ($50k). Came to $5.64 per month for a healthy 36 year old male. Will cancel after 6 months.

Got the same promo in an email. Applied for the minimum cover (50k) and will hold for 6 months and cancel. Not bad $35~ for 20k points.

Many American Express customers have received notification of this promotion by email. While some cardholders missed out, they have been able to access the offer by simply calling American Express.

Called today said I heard about this promo going on and was told it’s valid for all new applicants.

Amex promises that the points will be awarded up to 8 weeks after the first premium is paid, although the points seem to be posting after around a week. As the premium will be waived for the first month, you’ll need to wait until the second month of holding the policy before receiving the points. But one member has already received their points after taking out a policy with annual payments and paying the first premium.

Signed up Wednesday paid $49 annual payment, got the 20k points last night once the payment was processed from pending
