This week our members reveal their best travel tips and tricks. Countless “gems” have been shared, that will help travellers with everything from charging phones to saving money on hotels.

To save luggage space and reduce the number of overseas adaptors needed, one member suggests packing a power board with multiple Australian-style power point connections. This member also suggests packing a charger that holds 4 USB ports.

Another suggestion is to keep a small card in your wallet that contains passport details, hotel addresses and other important information that you might want to access quickly and discretely.

Numerous money-saving tips are also shared. When booking hotels, one member suggests booking a room that can be cancelled for free up to the arrival date. Then, if the room becomes available for a lower price in the future, it will be possible to cancel and re-book at the lower rate. Additionally, when overseas, it is recommended to always change money after arriving at the destination in order to get a better exchange rate.

One member suggests hanging shirts in the hotel bathroom while taking a hot shower, in order to save time on ironing. Another tip involves dressing in a way that expedites airport security procedures.

Whatever your travel style, our members’ advice is sure to make your travel experience easy and stress-free!
