Qatar Airways Opens Singapore Premium Lounge

Qatar Airways Opens Singapore Premium LoungeThe new Qatar Airways Premium Lounge in Terminal 1 of Singapore Changi Airport is now open to the public. Although the official lounge opening is slated for next month, it opened its doors to the public for the first time on Monday, 27 January 2020.

The new lounge is yet another great option for passengers flying Business or First Class from Singapore on Qatar Airways or any other Oneworld airline. However, access is not extended to Qatar Privilege Club members, nor Oneworld Sapphire or Emerald frequent flyers, travelling in Economy class on any Oneworld airline. This includes Qantas Gold, Platinum & Platinum One members flying even on Qatar Airways itself.

Located next to the Emirates Lounge in Terminal 1 of Singapore Changi Airport, the lounge features all of the usual creature comfort you’d expect including showers, comfortable seating and free wifi. According to a comprehensive review by Singaporean blog Mainly Miles, there are also lockers, relaxation pods, a martini bar, a restaurant with a-la-carte dining and even a complimentary garment steaming service. All in all, this looks like a very nice airline lounge with great service to match!

Qatar Airways operates 3 flights per day from Singapore to Doha, departing at 10.55am, 8.25pm and 2am. The Qatar Airways Premium Lounge opens in the morning for 3 hours prior to the 10.55am departure. It then closes during the day, re-opening at 5.25pm until the 2am flight departs early the next morning.

As all of the Qantas flights from Singapore depart in the evening, you should be able to access the Qatar Airways lounge if you’re flying in Business or First class with Qantas. (But if you arrive at the airport early, you might need to head to one of the Qantas lounges first.)

The Qatar Airways Premium Lounge is one of several new lounges in Singapore. The Qantas Singapore First Lounge opened just a few months ago, and Singapore Airlines is also currently refurbishing its lounges at its home airport.

The Qatar Airways Premium Lounge and new Qantas First Lounge will both be on the list at the next AFF airport lounge crawl, which takes place in Singapore on 7 June 2020.

There are now five Oneworld airport lounges in Singapore:

  • Qantas Singapore Business Lounge (Terminal 1)
  • Qantas Singapore First Lounge (Terminal 1)
  • British Airways Lounge (Terminal 1)
  • Qatar Airways Premium Lounge (Terminal 1)
  • Cathay Pacific Lounge (Terminal 4)

With many pay-per-use lounges also available at Changi Airport, there is no shortage of lounge options in Singapore! Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold, Platinum & Platinum One members travelling on Qantas or Emirates can also access the Emirates Singapore Lounge in Terminal 1.
